Aswini Hair Oil - #28152

Ava

I am feeling kinda frustrated lately! I started noticing my hair thinning out, which totally freaked me out. A friend of mine suggested trying Aswini Hair Oil because she swears by it. I thought, why not? I’ve been using it for about a month now but honestly, I’m not seeing the results I hoped for. My scalp feels oily, and while I've read it can help with nourishment, I'm not sure if it's working for me. Somewhere, I heard that massaging it in helps with blood flow, right? I've been trying to do that too, usually after showering. Just the other day, I saw more hair in my brush than usual, which has me all worried. Like, is that normal? I can't remember if this was happening before I started the Aswini Hair Oil or if it's something related to it. Then I read online that it can actually promote hair growth! But I mean, how soon should I expect to see a difference? I wonder if anyone else has had similar experiences with Aswini Hair Oil or maybe some tips on how long it usually takes to kick in? Should I be using it differently? Any advice would be super appreciated! I really want to give my hair the boost it needs.

Doctors' responses

Using Aswini Hair Oil as a remedy for thinning hair is a common choice among many, yet the results can indeed vary widely based on individual factors such as your dosha balance, general scalp health, and underlying health conditons contributing to hair loss. It’s evident that you’ve noticed an increase in oiliness on your scalp, a possible sign of an aggravated Kapha dosha or excessive application of the oil. This may not necessarily lead to hair loss, but it could hinder new growth if pores get clogged.

Massaging your scalp does stimulate blood flow, a practice rooted in Ayurvedic tradition. It can encourage better nutrient delivery to hair follicles. However, if you see more hair fall post-massage, it might be due to excessive tugging during the massage or your hairs natural shedding cycle. Ensure you’re being gentle while massaging and using a soft circular motion. Perform this practice ideally before showering, allowing the oil to penetrate for at least 1-2 hours or even overnight if tolerated, before washing out excess oil in the morning. Applying oil after washing can trap moisture, leading to oil build-up and congestion – not ideal if occlusivity is a concern.

Improvements in hair health and growth can take a few months, often between 3 to 6, for noticeable shifts. It’s crucial to be patient and consistent. Additionally, consider examining your overall nutrition and lifestyle, as these factors play a vital role. Ensure your diet is rich in leafy greens, seeds, nuts, and good sources of protein, all vital for strong hair. If stress is a factor, incorporate stress-relieving routines, such as yoga or meditation, as stress can exacerbate hair thinning.

Lastly, do check with a healthcare provider to rule out any underlying medical causes for hair loss. Conditions like thyroid imbalances or nutritional deficiencies require direct intervention and could be contributing to your concerns.

It’s common to feel anxious when you notice your hair thinning, and trying new products like Aswini Hair Oil is an understandable step. The oil, rich in natural ingredients, is designed to nourish the scalp and promote hair health. However, individual responses can vary significantly based on one’s dosha balance and current hair and scalp condition.

Using the oil, particularly if your scalp leans towards being oily, could potentially lead to a greasy feel or sometimes clogging the pores if used excesively. If more hair than usual is showing up on your brush, a possible cause might be the change in your hair care routine or stress influencing your hair cycle. It’s also important to note that hair cycles through phases of growth and shedding naturally.

Massaging the scalp can indeed enhance blood circulation, supporting nutrient delivery to the hair follicles. Consider massaging the oil in gently, avoiding excessive friction which might cause hair to break, and leave it in for at least 30 minutes before washing your hair. This helps in allowing the nutrients to penetrate better.

In terms of noticing visible changes, hair growth cycles are slow and uneven, often taking up three months to display noticeable results. Using Aswini Hair Oil alongside a balanced diet and consistent routine could help against hair loss caused by external factors.

Since Ayurveda examines hair issues through the lens of doshic imbalances, you might be experiencing vata or pitta disturbances causing thinning. Addressing these imbalances with suitable dietary and lifestyle modifications would synergize the effects of external applications like hair oils.

If the issue persists or you observe a rapid increase in hair fall, it could be wise to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner or a dermatologist for an assessment tailored to your unique body constitution and lifestyle. This ensures you’re on the right track towards holistic hair health.
