Hello Thank you for sharing your concern. I completely understand how persistent joint pain along with borderline diabetes can affect your comfort and daily mobility, especially at your age. But dont worry we are here to help you out😊

✅AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT-

✅INTERNAL MEDICATION

1 Nisha Amalaki Churna ½ tsp twice daily Before meals with warm water (Balances blood sugar, acts as antioxidant)

2 Chandraprabha Vati 1 tablet twice daily after food (Supports urinary health and improves metabolism)

3 Yograja Guggulu 1 tablet twice daily after food (Reduces inflammation and supports joint detox)

4 Maharasnadi Kwath 20 ml twice daily. With equal warm water after food (Strengthens joints, relieves stiffness and nerve pain)

✅ EXTERNAL TREATMENT

Dashmoola Taila Abhyanga: Gentle massage from knees down to ankles daily before bath. It improves circulation, reduces pain, and relaxes Vata.

Kottamchukkadi Taila or Mahanarayana Taila: For pain and stiffness in joints — apply warm oil, followed by Nadi Sweda (mild steam).

Lepa: Mix Eranda Moola Churna with warm castor oil and apply on painful joints twice weekly for deep relief.

✅ DIET MODIFICATION

✅ Include: Bitter, astringent, and pungent-tasting foods (methi, karela, neem, turmeric) Green leafy vegetables, bottle gourd, ridge gourd Barley, millets, brown rice in moderation Warm water infused with fenugreek seeds or cinnamon

❌ Avoid

White sugar, refined flour, fried or dairy-rich foods Cold drinks, bakery items, red meat Prolonged fasting or late-night eating

✅ Lifestyle Advice

Practice Brisk walking for 30 mins daily (preferably morning). Avoid prolonged sitting or standing; do mild stretching yoga asanas — Pavanmuktasana, Vajrasana, and Trikonasana. Perform Anulom Vilom and Bhastrika Pranayama daily for better metabolism. Maintain foot elevation for few minutes daily to reduce vein congestion. Keep stress levels low and ensure adequate sleep.

✅HOME REMEDIES

1. Fenugreek (Methi) Water: Soak 1 tsp methi seeds overnight, drink water in the morning.

2. Turmeric Milk (Haldi Doodh): With a pinch of black pepper — reduces inflammation and regulates sugar.

3. Cinnamon Tea: ½ tsp cinnamon powder boiled in water — helps improve insulin sensitivity.

4. Warm Castor Oil Massage: Once weekly for joint lubrication and Vata balance.

With proper Ahara-Vihara, mild detox, and consistent use of above medicines, your blood sugar can stabilize, and joint pain will gradually reduce. Improvement is usually seen within 4–6 weeks, with enhanced energy levels and reduced leg discomfort

Wishing you a good health😊

Warm regards, Dr Snehal Vidhate

Borderline Type 2 diabetes and your joint pain might not be directly related, but both need attention. In Ayurveda, a combination of dietary adjustments, lifestyle practices, and specific herbal formulations can help in managing your blood sugar levels while providing relief from joint discomfort.

1. Dietary Adjustments: Focus on foods that are light, warm, and easy to digest, to support your Agni (digestive fire). Include more whole grains like barley and millet, alongside legumes such as lentils and black chickpea, which help in stabilizing blood sugar levels. Cut down refined sugars and processed foods. Favor vegetables like bitter gourd (karela) and fenugreek (methi) leaves which are known for their glucose-regulating properties.

2. Lifestyle Changes: Regular moderate excercise, like walking or gentle yoga, can significantly aid in maintaining a balanced weight and lowering blood sugar levels. Try to incorporate Pranayama (breathing exercises) like Kapalabhati, which can enhance metabolism and circulation.

3. Relieving Joint Pain: The pain you’re experiencing may stem from Vata dosha imbalance, common in older age. Massage the affected areas with warm sesame oil or Mahanarayan oil to improve circulation and reduce pain. Routine warm baths with Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) can also provide relief and aid in reducing swelling around the ankles.

4. Herbal Formulations: In Ayurvedic medicine, Turmeric (Curcuma longa) and Boswellia (Shallaki) are often recommended for their anti-inflammatory properties to help relieve joint pain. Aam Pachak churna (digestive powder) can be taken to ensure that toxins (Ama) are not accumulating, as Ama aggravates joint issues.

It’s essential to keep monitoring your blood sugar levels and consult with your healthcare professional to make sure your Ayurvedic practices work harmoniously with any current medical treatments. If the pain in the limbs worsens or becomes severe, it’s crucial to seek medical evaluation to rule out diabetic neuropathy or vascular issues.
