how to cure cavity in teeth naturally - #41770

Sofia

I am dealing with a pesky problem and really don't want to go the dental route. I’ve been having this awful toothache, and after finally getting around to a checkup, the dentist said I have cavities. Like, ugh! I wasn't really surprised since I’ve had a kinda sweet tooth for, like, forever. But now I’m curious about how to cure cavity in teeth naturally. I've heard that some natural remedies can work but I’m honestly like, do they really?? I’ve tried some things like oil pulling and using clove oil because I read somewhere it’s supposed to help with pain. But what about diet? Like, I’m kinda thinking cutting out sugar is a start, but is there more?? I’m also sipping on bone broth since I heard it’s good for teeth too, but does it actually help in curing cavities, you know? This whole cavity thing has got me worried! I just want to avoid fillings if possible and go for a more holistic route – how to cure cavity in teeth naturally is all I can think about these days. Any tips, advice or personal experiences would be awesome! Thanks, everyone!

Doctors' responses

Addressing cavities naturally requires a comprehensive approach that encompasses dietary modifications, oral hygiene practices, and lifestyle changes in line with Ayurved’s time-tested wisdom. While severe cavities may ultimately require professional dental intervention, several natural methods can aid in alleviating symptoms and potentially halting progression.

First, your instinct to limit sugar intake is spot on. Sugary foods contribute to plaque formation and tooth decay, acting as a food source for harmful oral bacteria. Gradually reducing and eventually minimizing sugar consumption can be immensly beneficial. Incorporate more alkalizing foods like leafy greens, carrots, and celery — these help maintain a balanced oral pH and promote dental health. Chewing on raw vegetables can also stimulate saliva production, which helps cleanse the mouth.

Oil pulling is another practice rooted in Ayurvedic tradition that can be quite helpful. Swish a tablespoon of sesame or coconut oil in your mouth for about 10-20 minutes daily, preferably on an empty stomach. This aids in pulling toxins from the oral cavity, potentially reducing bacterial load and promoting gum health.

Clove oil is known for its antiseptic and numbing properties, which can offer temporary relief from tooth pain. Apply a small amount with a cotton swab directly to the affected area, but use sparingly.

Bone broth, rich in collagen and minerals, can support overall bone and dental health. However, it’s more of a supportive measure rather than a direct solution for curing cavities. Consistently consuming nutrient-rich foods, like those containing calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium, aids in remineralization.

Lastly, consider using a natural toothpaste that includes neem or miswak, known in Ayurveda for their antibacterial properties. You may also prepare a paste with water and turmeric, another Ayurvedic ingredient known for its anti-inflammatory properties.

These natural remedies, combined with maintaining good oral hygiene practices like regular brushing and flossing can be beneficial. However, while these methods may help manage symptoms and support oral health, professional dental evaluation remains important, as untreated cavities can lead to more serious issues.
