In Ayurveda, skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, or allergies often link with imbalanced doshas, particularly Pitta and sometimes Kapha. For psoriasis, a chronic condition rooted in a combination of excessive heat (Pitta) and moisture (Kapha), it’s crucial to balance these by cooling the body and pacifying these doshas.

Start with diet. Avoid spicy, oily, and excessively salty foods, as they aggravate Pitta. Instead, focus on cooling, bitter, and astringent foods: include leafy greens like spinach, bitter gourds, and turmeric. Drinking neem juice occasionally helps cleanse blood which is beneficial for skin conditions. Consider also minimizing intake of yeast-heavy foods, processed sugars, and alcohol, as they can influence Kapha. For hydration, coconut water or cumin-coriander water can be soothing and detoxifying.

Lifestyle changes are equally important: aim for a regular sleep cycle. Ensure to get adequate rest, as stress is a notable trigger for skin flare-ups. Apply sesame oil or coconut oil on affected areas before taking a bath; this not only moisturizes but also calms the skin. Avoid hot water baths - opt for lukewarm instead.

You might want to consider internal, Ayurvedic formulations like taking Panchatikta Ghrita Guggulu or Kaishore Guggulu, under professional supervision for helping reduce inflammation and balancing the doshas involved.

Don’t ignore yoga and pranayama: they will help reduce stress levels and promote overall well-being. Practicing slow, calming breathing exercises like Shitali or Chandrabhedi pranayama can cool down Pitta dosha.
