Eczema, a condition known as Vicharchika in Ayurveda, is often associated with imbalances in the Kapha and Pitta doshas. Addressing the root cause requires a holistic approach, including diet, lifestyle changes, and specific Ayurvedic treatments. To begin with, ensure your diet minimizes foods that aggravate Pitta and Kapha like spicy, oily, and heavy foods. Favor a diet rich in whole grains, fresh greens, and lighter proteins. Ghee and turmeric have anti-inflammatory properties and can be beneficial - consider adding them to your meals.

Herbal remedies may also aid in restoring balance. Neem, Turmeric, and Guduchi are traditionally used in managing eczema symptoms due to their cooling and detoxifying properties. Neem leaf paste applied topically can help reduce inflammation, while Guduchi in the form of tablets or decoctions helps cleanse the system internally. Before starting any herbal supplement, consult an Ayurvedic practitioner, as these should be tailored to your specific doshic imbalance.

Lifestyle adjustments are equally important. Regular exercise boosts circulation but avoid excessive sweating, which can aggravate eczema. Opt for yoga or gentle walks. Routine detoxification through Panchakarma under professional supervision may also aid in managing symptoms and reducing flare-ups by eliminating accumulated toxins (ama).

For targeted relief, consider applying coconut or sesame oil to affected areas, as they soothe and hydrate the skin. Avoid harsh soaps and long hot showers, which can strip moisture. Stress management through meditation or pranayama can further balance doshas.

Lastly, it’s crucial to consult with an experienced Ayurvedic practitioner to create a personalized plan that fits your unique prakriti and addresses the root cause of this condition effectively. Remember, eczema can be managed and significantly reduced, though a permanent cure needs careful, consistent adherence to these lifestyle and dietary changes.
