The symptoms you’re experiencing seem to reflect imbalances in the body’s doshas, particularly an overactive vata and kapha. This combination can lead to issues like excessive mucus production, digestion problems, and anxiety or restlessness. Let’s address these concerns through Siddha-Ayurvedic wisdom.
First, for the intestinal issues, consider Triphala churna. This traditional formula can help regulate bowel movements and support digestive health. Take about 1 teaspoon with warm water before bed each night. It’s a gentle but effective way to foster proper elimination and balance the digestive fire (agni).
For the post-nasal drip and mucus, try steaming with a few drops of eucalyptus oil. Inhale the steam deeply for around 10 minutes, once daily. This can aid in clearing nasal passages and reduce kapha imbalances causing mucus buildup. Consuming a warm herbal tea made with Tulsi and ginger, twice daily, may also help break down the mucus.
The feelings of anxiety, dizziness, and unease could be related to vata imbalance. Incorporate abhyanga (self-oil massage) with warm sesame oil; this is grounding and can calm vata. Apply before showering, allowing the oil to sit on your skin for 15-20 minutes.
Given the slight elevation in liver enzymes (SGOT and SGPT), consider consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner for herbs like Kutki (Picrorhiza kurroa), known for supporting liver health. However, consult your gastroenterologist before starting anything new, especially regarding liver health.
In the meantime, follow a vata-pacifying diet: warm, moist, easy-to-digest foods. Avoid dry, raw, and cold foods which can aggravate vata. Also, minimize dairy, fried foods, and refined sugars that can exacerbate kapha and mucus production.
For systemic balance, incorporate pranayama like Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) and meditation to reduce stress and stabilize mood. If symptoms persist or worsen, especially with dizziness or anxiety, it’s essential to follow up with a healthcare professional to manage these safely.
