Namaste, During breastfeeding, your diet directly supports the quality of breast milk, which helps in providing nutrition and immunity for the baby. Eating a balanced and nourishing diet is the most important step. Simple measures that may help: Include fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lentils, nuts, and seeds in your daily meals. Add healthy fats such as sesame seeds, almonds, walnuts, and a small amount of ghee if suitable. Drink adequate warm fluids like water, soups, and herbal drinks to support milk production. Avoid excessive junk food, processed foods, and very sugary snacks. Since you have dairy intolerance, you can include plant-based calcium sources like sesame seeds, ragi, almonds, and leafy greens. Traditional foods like khichdi, vegetable soups, moong dal, dates, soaked almonds, and millet preparations can be nourishing and easy to digest during the postpartum period. Ayurvedic medicines sometimes used to support nourishment during breastfeeding include: Shatavari – traditionally used to support lactation and overall nourishment. Ashwagandha – sometimes used to support strength and recovery after delivery. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.

At 7 months postpartum, breastfeeding is still one of the best ways to support your baby’s immunity. In Ayurveda, the quality of breast milk (Stanya) depends largely on the mother’s diet, digestion, and overall health, so focusing on nourishing and easily digestible foods is very helpful. Since you have a dairy allergy, you can still support milk quality and immunity with the following simple foods: 1. Warm, freshly cooked meals Prefer freshly prepared foods like moong dal, vegetable khichdi, vegetable soups, and whole grains. These are easy to digest and nourishing. 2. Protein-rich foods Include lentils, chickpeas, beans, tofu, nuts, and seeds to support your strength and milk quality. 3. Immunity-supporting spices (in small amounts) Use mild spices such as turmeric, cumin, fennel, and ginger in cooking. They support digestion and overall immunity. 4. Healthy fats Include sesame seeds, almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds, and coconut for healthy fats that support both mother and baby. 5. Fruits and vegetables Eat a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, especially those rich in antioxidants like carrots, spinach, pumpkin, apples, and berries. 6. Adequate hydration Drink warm water, herbal infusions like fennel or cumin water, and soups throughout the day to support milk production. 7. Add Swarnaprashan for the infant in pushya nakshatra from trusted doctor Try to limit: • Packaged or junk foods • Excess sugar and deep-fried foods • Very cold or processed foods Maintaining good sleep, low stress, and regular meals is also important because the mother’s overall health directly affects breast milk quality. With a balanced, nourishing diet and healthy digestion, you can provide good quality breast milk that supports your baby’s immunity and growth.

During the postpartum and breastfeeding period the quality of breast milk is closely connected with the mother nutrition digestion and overall strength When the mother consumes balanced nourishing and easily digestible foods it supports the formation of good quality breast milk which naturally helps in building the baby immunity Since you have dairy intolerance you can focus on simple foods that are gentle on digestion such as warm cooked grains like rice or millets moong dal soups vegetable khichdi well cooked vegetables seasonal fruits soaked almonds dates sesame seeds and coconut Healthy fats in small amounts like sesame oil coconut oil or flax seeds can help provide nourishment Including mild digestive spices like cumin fennel ginger and turmeric in daily cooking can support proper digestion which is important for maintaining healthy breast milk It is beneficial to prefer freshly prepared home food and try to reduce packaged or junk foods because they may disturb digestion and reduce the nutritive value of milk Simple meals like warm soups lentil broths vegetable stews oats or millet porridge and homemade laddus prepared with nuts sesame seeds and jaggery can be supportive during the breastfeeding period Drinking enough fluids such as warm water or light herbal infusions like cumin or fennel water can also support hydration and milk flow Adequate rest proper sleep gentle physical activity and maintaining a calm routine are also important because the mother overall health digestion and emotional balance directly influence the quality of breast milk and help support the baby immunity growth and development

Hello, Since you are 7 months postpartum and breastfeeding , Ayurveda focuses on immunity and digestion, and quality of breast milk. If mother’s food is nourishing and easy to digest, the baby receives stronger immunity through breastmilk Because you have dairy allergy, we will avoid milk based tonics 1) Morning immunity drink start your day with a warm herbal drink to enrich breast milk Jeera-saunf water -1/2 tsp cumin seeds -1/2 tsp fennel seeds -boil in 1 glass water for 5 minutes Benefits -improves digestion -enhances milk quality -reduces colic in baby 2) Immunity boosting foods -Moong dal khichdi with ghee (small amount if tolerated)= very easy to digest, builds strength and immunity -Gond laddoo or dry fruits laddoo= good for postpartum recovery, strengthens immunity and bones -Vegetable soups= pumkin, carrot, bottle gourd add black pepper + turmeric for immunity -Soaked nuts in morning- 5 almonds, 1 walnuts, 1 date good for Ojas and baby brain development 3) Ayurvedic Immunity spices daily small amounts use these in cooking -turmeric= natural immunity booster -ajwain= improves digestion and milk quality -black pepper= improves nutrient absoprtion -cumin= supports lactation 4) Middayy strength drink (dairy-free) Almond milk with turmeric -homemade almond milk -pinch turmeric -pinch cardamom Supports immunity and energy 5) Foods that improve breast milk quality include regularly -sesame seeds -ragi -moringa leaves -dates -ghee in small quantity These help build Ojas-> stronger immunity for baby 6) Avoid for better milk quality limit -packaged junk food -excess cold foods -carbonated drinks -too much fried food They weaken digestion and reduce milk quality 7) Simple Ayurvedic immunity mix you can take daily -1/2 tsp mix after lunch -dry ginger powder -turmeric -black pepper With warm water This supports digestion + immunity transfer to baby Very important -eat warm, freshly cooked meals -eat at regular times -stay well hydrated -sleep when baby sleeps This keeps your agni strong-> better breast milk-> stronger immunity for baby Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you
