Seeking Advice on Managing Pain and Nutrition Post-Liver Issues - #50858

Client_c59361

Hi, My name is Vera and I am 54 years old. I was vegan for many years and used to be stressed and physicallyvery active person. More than 20 years I suffer from widespread pain in muscles and joints.. Doctor diagnosed some kind of connective tissue disorder and fibromyalgia.. 5 years ago I had severe liver inflammation and been hospitalized two times in 6 months when liver almost stop to work and liver enzymes was extremely high..over 1500 After many tests, mri and biopsy doctor didn't find the cause and said that is probably from some supplements. I WAS taking vitamins D and hyaluronic acid as my rheumatologist suggests. Year before that I did pancha karma for 3 weeks. But two months after that doctors ask me to do CT scan they also gave me to drink some liquid for the scan and from that day I had diarrhea for 11 month..and episode with liver inflammation followed.. From that time on I really avoided medication and took only some time for severe migraines..and every time my stomach hurts and I usually have diarrhea... Now For two yearsI'm in menopause.. Apart from the pain in my body I suffer from insomnia...some time a sleep just for 2 hours but usually sleep around 10 and wake up between 1 and 3 in the morning... I would like to do to help my condition butI'm also afraid not to cause trouble with liver... I start taking neem plus Curcuma in the morning Than I make Dendolyion and Milk thistle tea After usually take small amount od amla powder Start also taking creatine because for decades I was on very low protein intakeI also try to take some Macha tea and coffee only in the morning as it helps me to regulate bowel movements and for migraines..but I have plan to stop In the afternoon I take a quarter of tea spoon of shatavari and ashvaganda... I am concerned with protein intake and would like to ask apart of mung beans how can I take more protein.. I started to eat eggs and would like to now how many can I eat per day? Is it better to eat 2 or time per day? Can you please advise me are the supplement I'm taking to much and can cause liver issues...as I usually feel discomfort and pressure under my right rips. Can you please give advise on food when and what is best to eat for my condition..I also have bloating and difficulty to eat most of the beens, legumes and veggies.. I am vata pita dosha.. Thank you in advance 🙏, Vera Siakatidou

Hello, It is good to know that you underwent a course of panchakarma. As there are multiple issues it is better to consult an Ayurveda person in and around your place to undergo nadi pariksha(pulse reading). This helps to regulate the ayurveda supplements you are taking+ to advice on better protein options without causing any burden on your liver. And also please start practicing yogasana-pranayama-meditation consistently everyday. This will have positive effect on over all wellbeing. Take care, Kind regards.

Dear Vera 🙏 First, I want to say — your body has been through a lot. What you describe is not a simple case. It is a long-term nervous system + liver + gut imbalance, and your fear about harming the liver again is completely understandable. I will answer you carefully and safely. 🌿 Understanding Your Case (Holistic View) You have: 20+ years widespread pain → diagnosed fibromyalgia / connective tissue disorder Severe unexplained liver inflammation (enzymes >1500) Long diarrhea episode after contrast scan Sensitive digestion since then Menopause (2 years) Insomnia (wake 1–3am) Right rib pressure Bloating, poor tolerance to legumes Long-term low protein intake From an Ayurvedic view: This is Vata aggravated in nervous system + Pitta affecting liver + weak Agni (digestive fire). From modern perspective: Possible autoimmune tendency Liver hypersensitivity to substances Gut barrier disruption Hormonal shift (menopause) Central sensitization (fibromyalgia) We must go very gentle. ⚠ First Important Point – Your Liver History Liver enzymes >1500 is serious acute hepatitis level. Even if cause was unclear, your liver is reactive. So: 👉 Do NOT combine many herbs at once 👉 Avoid strong detox herbs 👉 Avoid frequent supplement changes 🌿 About What You Are Taking Now Let’s review honestly. Morning: Neem + Curcuma Dandelion + Milk thistle tea Amla Creatine Matcha + coffee Afternoon: Shatavari Ashwagandha That is quite a lot for a sensitive liver. Even good herbs become stressful in combination. 🟡 Possible Issues Neem + Curcuma daily → strong liver-stimulating + bitter + drying Dandelion + Milk thistle → also liver-active Amla → acidic (can aggravate sensitive gut) Coffee + matcha → increases cortisol + irritates gut Ashwagandha → usually safe but in rare cases can affect liver Creatine → generally safe, but unnecessary if liver feels pressure The right rib pressure worries me. Please do liver enzymes (AST, ALT, ALP, GGT) again soon. 🌿 My Suggestion: Simplify Immediately For 4 weeks, reduce to: ✔ Shatavari ¼ tsp (evening only) ✔ Magnesium glycinate at night (for sleep & muscles) Stop temporarily: Neem Daily curcuma (you can use in cooking only) Amla Matcha Creatine (pause) Ashwagandha (pause for now) Your system needs calming, not stimulation.
