To address your sore throat, throat infection, and breathing issues, Ayurveda offers several herbal medicines that can provide relief and strengthen respiratory health. Ayurvedic remedies such as Sitopaladi Churna, Talisadi Churna, and Yashtimadhu (Licorice) are effective for soothing the throat and alleviating congestion. Sitopaladi Churna, taken with honey, helps relieve throat irritation and clears respiratory passages, while Talisadi Churna, mixed with warm water and honey, can aid in reducing cough and phlegm. Yashtimadhu powder, taken with warm water, soothes the throat and has anti-inflammatory properties.

For breathing difficulties and to support respiratory function, Tulsi (holy basil) and Pippali (long pepper) are highly recommended. Tulsi can be taken as a tea, while Pippali powder, used sparingly with honey or warm water, enhances lung function and reduces mucus. You may also try Dashamoola, which is known to improve respiratory health and relieve congestion. A steam inhalation with Ayurvedic oils like eucalyptus or a few drops of Ajwain (carom) oil can open up the airways and improve breathing.

These Ayurvedic medicines, along with lifestyle adjustments like warm, soothing meals and adequate hydration, can help manage respiratory symptoms naturally. Regularly practicing Pranayama, particularly Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) and Bhramari (humming bee breath), can further support respiratory strength.

In Ayurveda, sore throat, throat infections, and breathing difficulties are often linked to imbalances in the Kapha and Vata doshas. Kapha imbalance causes mucus buildup and congestion, while Vata can cause dryness and irritation in the respiratory tract. To soothe these symptoms, warm and moistening treatments are beneficial. But also cross check if you have acid reflux which can also irritate the throat and can be mistaken as respiratory issue.

Start by drinking warm water throughout the day, infused with a pinch of turmeric and ginger to reduce inflammation and clear mucus. Gargling with warm water, especially with a pinch of dry ginger & turmeric , can help soothe throat irritation. Herbal teas made from tulsi (holy basil), ginger, black pepper, and licorice are also excellent for respiratory health, reducing congestion and easing the throat.

For breathing relief, steam inhalation with a few drops of eucalyptus or peppermint oil can help open airways and reduce congestion. Avoid cold foods, dairy, and heavy or fried foods, as these can increase Kapha and worsen congestion. Rest and warm, light meals will support quicker recovery, helping your body return to balance.

Ah, sore throat, breathing problems, mixin’ with pesky cold symptoms. Can be kind of a drag, huh? From an Ayurvedic perspective, sounds like an imbalance in Kapha and may be a bit of Pitta ticklin’ the back of your throat there, causing that inflammation. Let’s break this down and see what we can work with.

First things first, if breathing’s really tough, don’t wait it out. Better see a doc soon as you can. Safety always first.

For that scratchy, stubborn sore throat, try a turmeric gargle. In a cup of warm water, blend in about a half teaspoon of turmeric and maybe a pinch of salt. Gargle that mix a few times a day — it might help ease the redness and give a bit of relief to the discomfort.

Got any honey at home? Mix a spoon with a dash of ground ginger and sip this. It’s comforting and can help pacify the throat’s rawness and scratchiness. Be sure, though, not to add honey to hot tea — it loses its therapeutic goodness that way.

Now for the cold part of it, ayurvedic herbal tea can be s soothing. Start with boiling water, adding some freshly grated ginger, a few leaves of Tulsi (holy basil), and sprinkle in some ground black pepper. Steep it for about 10 minutes and strain. Drink it warm - it should help to loosen up the phlegm.

Keep an eye on your diet too. Cold, gooey, and heavy foods? Best steer clear. Emphasize warm, cooked meals, and sips of hot boiled water throughout the day - helps with digestion 'n keeps your internal fire stoked.

Balance’s key here. If symptoms hang around or worsen, do reach out to a healthcare provider. Remember, Ayurveda dovetails with modern medicine, a beautifully blended duo! Stay warm, rest up, and take care of yourself.
