Doctors’ responses

To address your digestion issues, including acidity after meals, weight loss, and fatty liver, consider a focused Ayurvedic approach. Emphasize a light, warm, and easily digestible diet, incorporating foods like khichdi, boiled vegetables, and soups, while avoiding spicy, oily, and heavy foods that can exacerbate acidity. Use Triphala at bedtime with warm water to support digestion and liver health, and consume ginger tea after meals to alleviate acidity; Ajwain (carom seeds) can also be chewed or steeped in warm water to relieve bloating. Stay well-hydrated with warm water throughout the day to support digestion, and engage in regular, gentle physical activity like walking, as well as stress-reducing practices such as yoga or meditation. It’s essential to work closely with your Ayurvedic practitioner to adjust your treatment plan as needed, especially in light of your fatty liver and recent weight loss, while regularly monitoring your liver function and overall health.

Experiencing persistent digestive problems, particularly with acidity and weight loss, alongside a diagnosis of fatty liver, indicates a need for a comprehensive Ayurvedic approach to restore digestive health and balance the liver. It's important to first assess your current Ayurvedic medications and dietary habits, as these can significantly impact your condition. To aid digestion and reduce acidity, consider incorporating Triphala as a formulation, which is known for its detoxifying and digestive-enhancing properties. Additionally, Avipattikar Churna can help alleviate acidity and support healthy digestion. Another beneficial formulation is Kutaj Ghan Vati, which can help address digestive disturbances and improve gut health. To support liver function and reduce fat accumulation, Kanchanar Guggulu is recommended as it aids in detoxifying the liver and promoting metabolism. For immediate relief from acidity, drinking a mixture of warm water with a teaspoon of honey and a few drops of lemon juice may provide soothing effects. Including Amla (Indian gooseberry) in your diet can enhance digestion and provide essential nutrients. It is also beneficial to consume light, easily digestible foods such as khichdi (a mix of rice and lentils), steamed vegetables, and herbal teas made from ginger or fennel. Additionally, adopting lifestyle changes such as eating smaller, more frequent meals, avoiding spicy and fatty foods, and ensuring adequate hydration can significantly improve your condition. Engage in gentle activities like walking to stimulate digestion and support liver health

Digestive issues can really throw us off, especially when they hang around for so long. Sounds like you're dealing with some pitta imbalance, often tied to issues like acidity and that fiery digestive distress you’re feeling. Since you mentioned feeling acidic after meals and dealing with a fatty liver, it's worth taking a closer look at your diet and lifestyle to get things back in balance. Firstly, about the acidity and weight loss, it seems like your agni – or digestive fire – is disturbed. In Ayurveda, strengthening your agni is crucial. Start your day with a glass of warm water with a bit of fresh lime squeezed into it. It can help ignite that digestive fire without aggravating acidity. Your meals can also play a big role here. Aim for smaller, more frequent meals. Avoid very spicy, oily, or fermented foods, as they can boost your pitta. Include more cooling foods, like cucumbers, zucchini, fresh coriander, and mint leaves. Cooked apples and pears can be soothing for the stomach. It's all about gentle digestion. As for your fatty liver, go easy on heavy, rich meals. Try incorporating turmeric and ginger into your diet, but in moderation since we don’t wanna ramp up the heat more. They can support liver function and aid digestion. Also, consider adding Triphala at bedtime with warm water; it's a classic remedy for supporting digestion and liver health. But check if it suits you first. Lifestyle changes, such as yoga or pranayama, specifically cooling and calming practices, can be highly beneficial. Pitta imbalances often benefit from a peaceful mind, so stress management is key – things like meditations or simple breathing exercises throughout the day. If your symptoms persist, however, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional who can tailor advice to your specific situation. Ayurvedic remedies require patience, but they should work in harmony with medical advice, especially concerning weight loss like yours. Listen to your body and adjust any practices if needed.
