Conductive hearing loss and tinnitus can be challenging to manage, especially with a history of otosclerosis and previous ear surgeries. While conventional treatments may not provide a cure, Ayurveda offers a holistic approach that may help alleviate symptoms and improve overall ear health. It’s essential to focus on balancing the doshas, enhancing circulation, and supporting the auditory system.

Begin by incorporating herbs known for their benefits to ear health, such as Ginger and Turmeric, which possess anti-inflammatory properties and can help improve circulation. Anantmool (Hemidesmus indicus) is another beneficial herb that can support ear health and improve hearing. You may also consider Triphala, which aids in detoxification and may help improve overall bodily functions, including ear health.

A diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can support overall health, while staying hydrated is crucial for maintaining bodily functions. Avoid excessive intake of processed foods and stimulants, as they may exacerbate symptoms.

Incorporating daily practices like nasya (nasal administration of herbal oils) can help clear the channels and improve the flow of energy in the head region. Gentle ear massage with warm sesame oil can also provide relief and improve circulation. Additionally, engaging in yoga and meditation can help reduce stress and improve focus, aiding in coping with tinnitus.

Really sorry to hear about you’re dealing wit this challenge. Conductive hearing loss & tinnitus from otosclerosis can be really frustrating, I get it. Classic Ayurveda has some neat ways to support ear health, even though ya say surgery ain’t the best option and Ayurvedic meds hasn’t been helping much. It might be worth trying a few more lifestyle and diet tips to see if things can improve a bit.

First things first, getting to know your dosha imbalances is important. Otosclerosis often ties in with Vata imbalance, which impacts bones and nerves, y’know. Focus on grounding and calming your Vata. Warming, nourishing foods like cooked veggies, whole grains, and warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg can be soothing. Try avoiding cold, raw foods, and caffeinated drinks - these up the Vata and aren’t your ear’s friends.

Oil therapy, gentle and soothing, could lend a hand: warming sesame oil applied gently around the ear canal can provide relief. Just warm it slightly before applying. You could consult an Ayurvedic practitioner about Nasya therapy - administering herbal oils through the nostrils. It’s quite effective, but gotta be done right, so be cautious.

Breathing exercises and meditation calm the mind - they help with stress, which sometimes spikes tinnitus. Practicing Brahmari Pranayama, often called the bee breath, where you mellow your mind with a humming sound, can sometimes help slow down that annoyance ringing.

While you’re dealing with this, be careful not to ignore the importance of professional medical advice. Keep in touch with your doc, balance their insight with Ayurvedic practices. And don’t give up! It might take patience to find the right combo to calm those ears down a bit, but with consistent efforts, a good routine might help you work through it.
