Hello, It’s completely understandable to feel frustrated when you’re putting in the effort and not seeing the results you want, especially after such a significant change since the pandemic. At 17, your body is still going through hormonal shifts, so it is important to approach weight loss in a way that supports your health rather than just “crashing” through it. In Ayurveda, weight gain (Sthaulya) is often seen as an accumulation of Kapha and an imbalance in Medas Dhatu (fat tissue). When your “Agni” (digestive fire) is sluggish, it leads to “Ama” (toxins), making weight loss difficult even with exercise. To lose weight effectively, we focus on Deepana (kindling the digestive fire) and Lekhana (scraping away excess fat). Kerala Ayurveda offers potent formulations that target these specific areas. Prescription : 1. Varunadi Kwath (Liquid) This is a premier “scraping” formula. It helps mobilize accumulated fat and clears the body’s channels. Dose: 15 ml mixed with 60 ml of lukewarm water. When: Twice daily, about 30 minutes before breakfast and dinner. 2. Liposem Tablets A specialized formulation designed to regulate lipid metabolism and reduce excess fat without causing weakness. Dose: 2 tablets. When: Twice daily after food. 3. Triphala Churna Essential for detoxing the digestive tract and ensuring regular bowel movements, which is the foundation of weight loss. Dose: 1 teaspoon (approx. 5g). When: At bedtime with lukewarm water. Sip lukewarm water throughout the day. This is a simple but powerful way to melt “Ama” (toxins). Ensure your last meal is the lightest of the day and consumed at least 3 hours before sleep. Limit cold drinks, heavy sweets, and oily snacks, as these immediately increase Kapha.

Weight gain is linked to Kapha imbalance + slow digestion (Agni). So the aim is: Improve metabolism Reduce fat gradually Keep hormones stable RX- 👉 Tab. Medohar gutika 1 tablet twice daily. 👉Triphala Churna ½ teaspoon at night With warm water. 👉Trikatu Churna 1 gram before lunch with honey. 🥗 What’s likely going wrong (important insight) You said: Dieting + exercising but no results This usually happens due to: Eating too little → metabolism slows Too much cardio, less strength training Irregular eating times Hidden calories (snacks, drinks) ✅ What will actually work for you 1. Fix your routine Eat 3 proper meals (don’t skip) Add protein + fiber in each meal Avoid frequent snacking 2. Exercise correction Instead of only cardio: Add strength training (3–4 days/week) Keep cardio moderate 👉 This is the biggest game changer for fat loss Daily habits Drink warm water through the day 1 glass jeera water in morning Early dinner (before 8 PM) Sleep on time . 1.Medohara guggulu 2 tab twice daily with water after meals 2.Punarnavasava 15 ml with 15 ml water twice daily after meals 3.Triphala churna 1 tsp at bedtime with warm water Home Remedies to boost metabolism -Honey & Lemon water: Start your morning with one glass of lukewarm water, half a lemon, and 1 tsp of honey. -CCF Tea: Boil Cumin (Jeera), Coriander (Dhania), and Fennel (Saunf) seeds in water. Sip this warm throughout the day Lifestyle Corrections for Fast Results -The “Warm Water” Rule: Stop drinking cold or room-temperature water. Drinking lukewarm water throughout the day acts as a natural “scraper” for fat. -Sun Salutations: Add 10–12 rounds of Surya Namaskar to your morning routine. It is one of the most effective ways to balance Kapha and tone the body. -Early Dinner: Ensure your last meal is light (like Moong Dal soup or Khichdi) and finished by 7:30 PM. -Avoid Day Sleep: Sleeping during the day significantly slows down metabolism and increases weight gain in Ayurveda.

At 17, your body is still developing, so very fast weight loss is not safe or sustainable. The goal should be steady fat loss and body toning, not crash reduction. If exercise and diet are not giving results, usually it is due to metabolism + digestion imbalance, not lack of effort. First correct routine: Avoid: Junk food, sugar, cold drinks, packaged snacks, eating late at night. Prefer: Home food, early dinner (before 8 pm), include warm meals instead of cold salads at night. Do not skip meals — it slows metabolism. Ghar par: Morning empty stomach warm water + lemon. After meals, chew saunf to improve digestion. Sleep properly (7–8 hrs), otherwise weight loss stops. Triphala tablet – 1 tablet at bedtime Medohar vati – 1 tablet twice daily after food Lukewarm water through the day This will support metabolism and fat reduction gradually. Expect healthy loss of 2–3 kg per month, not instant drop. Stay consistent — your body will respond. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
