Your symptoms (fatigue + low milk + thyroid issue) are strongly linked. Untreated thyroid problems can reduce milk supply. My suggestion would be start shatavari with milk. Please don’t take above mentioned medication during breastfeeding.
Hello dear,
First of all you need to know that if you have hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism then you need proper Ayurveda treatment for it not need of supplements like Thyrocare Juice etc.
In Ayurveda, the postnatal and breastfeeding period focuses on Stanyajanana (improving milk quality and quantity) and Brimhana (nourishment of the mother’s tissues).
Breast milk (Stanya) is considered an “Upadhatu” (by-product) of Rasa Dhatu (plasma/nutrient fluid). To maintain wellness, the mother must consume Satmya (wholesome) foods like milk, ghee, and rice, while avoiding Vata-aggravating foods (spicy, dry, or fermented) that can cause colic in the baby.
For overall maternal wellness and lactation support:
1. Mathrukalpam: A nourishing jam that boosts vitality and improves milk quality.
Dose: 10–15 grams twice daily with warm milk after food.
2. Stanyajanana Rasayanam: Specifically formulated to increase breast milk and restore maternal strength.
Dose: 1 teaspoon (5–10 grams) twice daily with warm milk.
3. Dhanwantharam Kwath: Helps in hormonal balance and strengthening the body post-delivery.
Dose: 15 ml mixed with 45 ml of lukewarm water, twice daily before food.
Thyroid Supplements & Breastfeeding
Regarding Krishna’s Thyrocare Juice and Patanjali Thyrogrit:
Thyrogrit: Contains Kanchanar Guggulu and Trikatu. While effective for thyroid issues, Guggulu and hot spices (Trikatu) can sometimes alter the taste of milk or cause mild digestive heat for the baby.
Thyrocare Juice: Often contains Guduci, Punarnava, and Aloe Vera.
You should not start these without a direct consult. If you have an existing thyroid condition, standard allopathic Levothyroxine is generally considered safe and preferred during breastfeeding. If you wish to use these Ayurvedic alternatives, ensure your TSH levels are monitored, as untreated thyroid issues can significantly reduce your milk supply.
Healthy eating and taking care that lifestyle is good, feeding baby every 3 hourly is the secret to monthers wellness. Not necessary for any other suppliments. Still if you want options are: Shatavari kalpa Limeron granules Vidari avleham Not suggested to take Thyrocare juice or thyrogrit. Both have ushna dravyas and also can disturn hormonal levels in the body
For breastfeeding mothers, the focus should be on safe nourishment, hydration, and gentle herbs, not strong hormonal or thyroid-modulating products. Direct answer: 👉 For overall wellness + energy + milk support: Shatavari (best herb for lactation support) Fennel (saunf), jeera water Soaked almonds + milk Dates / raisins drink for energy Shatavari has traditionally been used to support milk production and may improve prolactin levels in some studies Also, herbs like fenugreek are commonly used for milk supply, though evidence is mixed 👉 Important: Many herbs lack strong safety data in breastfeeding, so always keep doses mild and simple ❌ About Krishna’s Thyrocare Juice / Patanjali Thyrogrit: Avoid during breastfeeding These are multi-herb thyroid formulations → can affect hormones and metabolism, and safety in breastfeeding is not well established. Clinical guidance generally recommends avoiding such combinations during lactation 👉 Simple routine you can follow: Morning: warm jeera/fennel water Day: 2.5–3 liters fluids Night: milk + 1 tsp ghee Shatavari churna – 1 teaspoon with milk at night Calcium + Vitamin D (if deficient) Iron supplement (if low energy/anemia) 👉 Key point: Keep it simple, nourishing, and safe. Avoid strong “thyroid” or “hormonal” herbal products during breastfeeding unless supervised. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
Avoid your asked juices Can start after 6 to 7 months 1. Stavari granules 1tsp-0-1tsp after food 2. Hiowna syp 15ml-0-15ml after food Take these to no need of any other drugs
-Krishna’s Thyrocare: Often contains ingredients like Kanchanar Guggulu, which is excellent for thyroid health but can be quite “scraping” or heating (Lekhana). This might occasionally affect milk supply or be too strong for a nursing infant’s digestion. -Patanjali Thyrogrit: Similar to Thyrocare, it often utilizes Punarnava and Kanchanar. While these are traditional for thyroid support, their safety profile during lactation hasn’t been extensively studied for the infant. Supplements 1.Shatavari kalpa 1 tsp twice daily with warm milk after meals 2.Jeera-Saunf Water: Boil 1 teaspoon of Cumin (Jeera) and 1 teaspoon of Fennel (Saunf) in 1 liter of water. Sip this warm throughout the day.
