खांसी की समस्या से कैसे छुटकारा पाएं? - #20063

Reeta yadav

When cough persists for over a month, it’s important to address it from its root, and Ayurveda can offer some holistic approaches. Your cough might be related to an imbalance in your dosha — possibly aggravated by kapha, as kapha governs fluids like mucus in the body. Back pain could be due to the ongoing pressure from chronic coughing. Let’s try to tackle this with individualized Ayurvedic recommendations.

First, focus on balancing kapha. Start your day with a glass of warm water with a pinch of turmeric and ginger – known for its anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties. This helps in clearing excess mucus. Ensure your diet is light and digestible; including more warm, slightly spiced foods and reduce cold, heavy or oily foods which can exacerbate kapha.

Try making a tea using tulsi (Indian basil), pippali (long pepper), and mulethi (licorice root), all of which are excellent for soothing the throat and reducing cough. Prepare it by boiling one teaspoon of each in about two cups of water until it reduces to one cup. Drink this once or twice a day.

For your back pain, gentle yoga can be of great help. Asanas like Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) and Matsyasana (Fish Pose) can help strengthen and stretch the back muscles, reducing pain over time. Practicing Pranayama (breathing exercises) like Anulom-Vilom can also enhance lung capacity and clear respiratory channels, aiding both cough and associated muscle tension.

However, if the symptoms persist, it is crucial to consult with a healthcare professional to ensure the underlying cause isn’t something that requires immediate attention or different treatment. The discomfort in the back might demand an examination to rule out any serious spinal issues. Always prioritize professional medical advice for serious or prolonged symptoms, alongside any ayurvedic tools you choose to implement.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
