For years, I’ve had an irregular menstrual cycle, and I feel like I don’t fully understand how my body’s rhythm works. Every time I visit a doctor, they tell me my hormones are slightly imbalanced, but they never offer a long-term solution. I want to understand the menstrual cycle explained from an Ayurvedic perspective and learn how I can balance it naturally. I experience a lot of PMS symptoms before my period—bloating, mood swings, and fatigue. My periods are sometimes late, and the flow varies between very light and very heavy. Could these be signs of an imbalance in my doshas? If so, how does Ayurveda classify menstrual health, and what does an ideal menstrual cycle look like? I also suffer from severe cramps on the first day of my period. I don’t want to rely on painkillers every month, so I am looking for natural ways to manage menstrual pain.
