Since you have been suffering from severe arthritis pain for over 10 years, your condition seems to be chronic and degenerative, likely involving Vata imbalance (causing joint dryness & stiffness) and Ama (toxins) accumulation (leading to inflammation). 1.Tab .Mahayograj guggulu 1 tab twice daily after food with lukewarm water 2.Tab.peedantak vati 1 tab twice daily after food with lukewarm water 3.mahanarayana taila -gentle massage Avoid cold spicy fermented foods
Namaste Advising 1) Rasnairandadi kashayam 10 ml twice daily B/F 2) Trayodasanga guggulu 1-0-1 A/F 3)Bala thailam External application.
Hi Safura,
Can you tell me if the pain is more in the joints or muscles, and whether it’s constant or comes and goes? Do you feel stiffness in your joints, especially in the mornings? Have you noticed any specific triggers for the pain, like weather changes or activity?
In Ayurveda, arthritis is typically linked to imbalances in Vata and Kapha. I suggest using Guggulu and Ashwagandha to reduce inflammation, and Turmeric for its healing properties. You can also try warm oil massages with Mahanarayana Oil to ease joint pain and stiffness.

Arthritis can be a tough journey, especially when it impacts daily mobility. In Ayurveda, arthritis often ties back to a Vata imbalance, which impacts joints and connective tissues, leading to inflammation and pain. The focus is on pacifying the Vata dosha, supporting digestion (agni), and rejuvenating the affected dhatus (tissues).
Firstly, ashwagandha is an excellent herb to incorporate. Taking 500 mg of ashwagandha powder twice a day with warm milk can help reduce joint inflammation and strengthen tissues. Ensure you consume freshly prepared milk, and if lactose intolerant, use almond or lactose-free alternatives.
Another recommended option is Guggul, a traditional resin used for joint health. 500 mg of Guggul tablets can be taken thrice daily after meals. This supports with reducing Ama (toxins) in the joints and tissues.
When it comes to home remedies, try adding more ginger and turmeric in your diet. These are potent anti-inflammatories. An easy way to consume them is by preparing a ginger-turmeric tea. Simmer a teaspoon of grated ginger and half teaspoon of turmeric in 2 cups water for about 10 min, then strain and add a dash of honey or lemon to taste.
Spread warm castor oil, gently massaging into affected areas, before bedtime. Leave it on overnight to help soothe and lubricate the joints. It offers a profound Vata pacification.
Proper hydration is essential too. Aim for at least 8 glasses of warm water daily, which aids in flushing out toxins and supporting joint fluidity.
Lastly, prioritize joint-friendly movements like yoga or swimming, keeping them gentle and slow. Rest is crucial, but it’s also important to avoid complete immobility.
If symptoms persist, consulting with a healthcare professional for personalized care is vital. Ayurveda complements but does not replace conventional medical treatments.
