Advice on Treating Open Pores and Skin Issues - #52048
Hello, doctor. I have open pores in my face. At first, I tend to have pimples more but now it is reduced but dark spots are left due to worn out pimple. I have white heads on and around the nose. The skin is uneven also. Currently I am applying face pack made in home with aloevera, rose water, gram flour and coffee powder twice a week. At every night, I apply a serum made with aloevera gel, vitamin e, almond oil. I am using these for last two week. I can see some development in the black spots, but not with the pores and white heads. Should i continue applying these or made changes?

Doctors' responses
Namaste, Open pores, whiteheads, and dark spots in oily skin are usually related to excess oil, clogged pores, and past acne. About your current routine: Aloe vera and gram flour can help, but coffee powder and heavy oils (like almond oil + vitamin E) may sometimes clog pores more, especially in oily skin. Simple changes that may help: Avoid heavy oils on the face, especially at night if your skin is oily. Use a gentle cleanser twice daily to keep pores clean. Continue aloe vera, but keep it simple and light. Avoid frequent touching or scrubbing, which can irritate pores. Reduce junk food, oily foods, and excess sugar. Drink adequate water and maintain a regular routine. For whiteheads and pores, consistency and keeping skin clean and non-greasy is most important. Ayurvedic medicines sometimes used to support skin health include: Neem – traditionally used to support skin cleansing and reduce acne tendency. Manjistha – sometimes used to support blood purification and improve skin clarity. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.
