I have alot of white hairat the age of 28. I applied henna 12 hours ago which gave a orangish color.When should I apply indigo? Also, do I need to do oiling on hair after henna or indigo or in between?

understand your concern—at 28, seeing a lot of white hair along with hair fall can feel worrying, but this is a very common pattern today and can be managed well with the right timing and routine. The good thing is you have already started henna, which is the correct first step. Now coming to your main question—after applying henna 12 hours ago, you are in the perfect phase for indigo application. Henna first creates a natural orange-red base on hair. Indigo alone does not stick well on white hair, so this 2-step method is correct for achieving a natural black/brown shade. You should apply indigo ideally within 12–24 hours after henna. Since your henna was applied 12 hours ago, you can apply indigo today or within the next 12 hours after washing out henna (if you haven’t rinsed yet). Do not wait too long (beyond 48 hours), otherwise the color bonding becomes weaker. Important point: hair should be clean, dry, and without oil when applying indigo. Oil blocks dye absorption. About oiling: Avoid oiling before both henna and indigo. After indigo, do not apply oil or shampoo for at least 48 hours, so the color can fully develop and darken. Between henna and indigo steps, also avoid oil completely. From an Ayurvedic perspective, early greying with hair fall is commonly linked to: • Pitta imbalance (stress, heat, irregular sleep) • Nutritional deficiency (especially B12, iron, copper) • Weakness of hair dhatu (Rasa-Rakta dhatu imbalance due to lifestyle) For treatment support, I usually advise: • Amla (Amalaki) 500 mg twice daily – nourishes hair pigment • Bhringraj tablets 250–500 mg at night – supports melanin and reduces hair fall • Bhringraj or Neelibringadi oil twice weekly (only after dye cycle is completed) Diet & lifestyle: Include amla, curry leaves, sesame seeds, soaked almonds, and green vegetables. Avoid excess spicy, junk, and late-night sleep. Most important: results take time. Hair fall reduces in 4–6 weeks, and better pigmentation support is seen over 2–3 months with consistency. If greying is rapidly increasing, I would also suggest checking Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, and iron levels. Stay consistent with the 2-step henna–indigo method, and your hair color and strength both can improve gradually.
