It’s understandable to be concerned about a delay in your menstrual cycle. Delayed periods can have multiple causes, including stress, dietary changes, changes in routine, or hormonal imbalances. Since this has happened before, there might be an underlying pattern related to your lifestyle or health.
You’re already taking some steps like consuming raw papaya and jeera water. Papaya is considered to help in regulating periods by improving blood circulation, which can help stimulate menstruation. Jeera (cumin) water and ginger are good for digestion and can reduce inflammation, while turmeric is known to have hormonal-balancing properties. These are good supportive measures, but they might need time to work.
Based on Ayurvedic principles, delayed periods can sometimes point to an imbalance in the Vata dosha. Vata governs movements and flow in the body which includes menstruation. You may want to focus on grounding and nourishing activities to help balance Vata. Ensure that you are eating warm, moist, and cooked foods, avoid cold and raw foods for now as much as possible. Including sesame seeds in your diet may also help encourage menstrual flow, due to their warming and nourishing qualities.
Practice regularity—try to wake up, eat, and go to bed at the same times each day. Gentle yoga and meditation exercises can help in reducing stress levels, which in turn may positively affect your cycle. If you could recall extra stressors from last year when this first ocurred, addressing them can be helpful to determine if stress might be an ongoing trigger for you.
If the delay continues for more than a week or if any new symptoms arise, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional for further investigation. While lifestyle factors and natural remedies can help address mild issues, more persistent or complex imbalances often require personalized medical attention.
