Irregular periods, breast discharge(on expression) - #20572
My symptoms I'm having are: "Irregular menstrual periods", "Watery breast discharge"(on expression), "lower back pain", "Vaginal dryness"(I don't get to enjoy sex anymore), occasionally slight headache. Although before all these symptoms started, when I was much younger between the ages of 19 or 20 in the year 2005 or 2006, a Doctor had fixed a family planning called "Copper T" in my Uterus. I started noticing my periods began dropping from normal 4 days to 3, to 2 and now as I speak I just flow for a day and my period is light. Most times I don't even know I have started my period or even get to use a pad as my period is light and irregular, and I don't know when I ovulate either. Now I just clocked 38 years last month (March). I have also done series of abortion way back when I was much younger and that was what prompted me to fix the Copper T. Please help me Doctor. I really need a thorough treatment.

Namaste. Thank you for sharing your detailed history and symptoms. In Ayurveda, the combination of irregular menstrual cycles, watery breast discharge, lower back pain, vaginal dryness, and occasional headaches—especially in the context of a past Copper T insertion and previous abortions—suggests an imbalance in your reproductive tissues (Artava Dhatu) and may reflect disturbances in Vata and Pitta doshas. Shatavari churna- Ashwagandha churna- 2 gms each with warm milk at night Stri rasayana vati - 1 tab twice daily after food with lukewarm water Asoka aristha- 4 tsp with equal quantity of water twice daily after food diet rich in warm, fresh, and easily digestible foods can help.Emphasize cooling, nutrient-dense foods like leafy greens, fresh fruits, and whole grains. Avoid overly spicy, oily, or processed foods. Daily Routine (Dinacharya): Maintaining a regular daily schedule, ensuring adequate sleep, and engaging in stress-reducing practices like meditation or gentle yoga can help restore balance. Regular self-massage with warm sesame/ coconut oils can alleviate dryness and improve overall vitality.
Hello dear… Your all complaints are due to long duration of copper T… First thing & another thing is your age…
Both together creating health issues thats it…
My advice is remove copperT & go with tubectomy if no any further baby plans…

Be hydrated & be active socially & physically… Seek emotional suport… 👍😊

Your situation sounds quite complex, and likely involves a maix of factors including past medical decisions, hormonal balance, and lifestyle habits. In Ayurveda, we try to understand not just the symptoms but the underlying imbalances in your body’s dosha system - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. In your case, the symptoms like irregular periods, vaginal dryness, and lower back pain suggest an imbalance in the Vata dosha, which governs bodily movements and fluid regulation. This could be further affected by Pitta imbalances due to the hormonal aspect of your symptoms.
Given your use of Copper T and history of reproductive procedures, it’s possible your reproductive system is experiencing some agitating disturbances. Here’s what you can try:
Diet: Focus on a Vata-pacifying diet that includes warm, cooked foods. Soups, stews, and herbal teas can be grounding. Avoid cold foods or beverages, as these can aggravate Vata. Incorporate ghee, sesame oil, and nourishing fats to help lubricate and and nourish your tissues.
Herbs: Consider Ashwagandha and Shatavari, both known for supporting hormonal balance and strengthening reproductive health. Shatavari, in particular, is excellent for nourishment and hydration of the female reproductive system.
Lifestyle: Establish a daily routine with consistent sleep and meal times. Gentle exercises like yoga can be beneficial. Also, practice stress-relief techniques such as meditation or pranayama breathing exercises to calm the mind and balance Vata. Make sure you’re getting plenty of rest — it’s crucial for restorative health.
Therapies: Abhyanga (self-massage with warm sesame oil) can help calm Vata and support balancing your hormonal axis. Panchakarma, a more intensive detoxification program, might be beneficial under the guidance of an experienced Ayurvedic practitioner, considering your chronic nature of symptoms.
I must also stress that some of your symptoms, particularly the breast discharge and unresolved menstrual irregularities, could suggest underlying conditions that warrant a further medical evaluation, potentially needing immediate attention. Please consult with a healthcare professional who can provide you with a thorough examination and diagnosis. This will help to rule out or address any serious health issues that might be contributing to your symptoms.
Remember, Ayurveda works best when integrated with all relevant medical interventions, so a dual approach with your allopathic doctor may provide you optimal outcomes.
