Considering your symptoms, let’s explore some Ayurvedic approaches that may help alleviate your body pains and improve your overall well-being. It’s important to look at the underlying reasons—keeping dosha imbalances, especially Vata and Pitta in mind, may be quite beneficial.

Your symptoms might be related to Vata dosha imbalance, since Vata governs movement and flexibility, which influences muscles, joints and also the functioning of the mind (affecting sleep). Additionally, because you’re experiencing a gastric ulcer, attention to Pitta (which influences digestion and the digestive tract lining) is needed too. Efforts to calm and balance these doshas can help manage your symptoms.

Starting with your diet, adopting a Vata-Pacifying Diet can aid in soothing the symptoms. Favor warm, cooked, and moist foods; think soupy, stewed items like kichadi or a simple moong dal soup. Avoid raw, cold or dry foods as they aggravate Vata. Opt for spices such as ginger, cumin, and asafoetida which balance Vata and help with digestion. Minimize spicy, sour, or salty foods to help reduce Pitta.

Hydration is important. Drink warm (not cold) water throughout the day; a herbal tea with fennel and coriander may also be calming for the digestive tract. Try Triphala at bedtime, it’s a gentle herb blend helping digestion and elimination.

Consider practicing gentle yoga, emphasizing on stretches for your spine and areas of pain. Gentle movements encourage mobility and circulation without overexerting the body. Meditation or pranayama practices are helpful for calming Vata inherent restlessness.

Massage with warm, Vata-balancing oils like sesame or an Ayurvedic oil such as Mahanarayan Oil can provide some relief to muscles and joints. Self-massage before a warm shower helps nourish the skin and soothe aches.

Since some of your symptoms are quite chronic and could require further investigation, it’s crucial to consult a healthcare provider for the pain under the right ribcage to rule out conditions needing immediate treatment.
