Dr. Manjusha Vikrant Pate
With over 18 years of dedicated Ayurvedic practice, I have focused extensively on treating skin and hair disorders, integrating classical Panchakarma therapies with individualized care. A major aspect of my clinical approach involves Upakarma procedures—supportive therapies within Panchakarma—which I customize based on each patient’s Prakriti (constitutional type). I believe true healing begins when treatments are aligned with the body’s natural balance, and this philosophy guides every aspect of my work. My specialization includes the preparation and use of Ayurvedic formulations that I personally design, including face packs, hair packs, body oils, and facial oils—each one carefully selected and recommended according to the patient’s specific dosha and skin/hair condition. These formulations are result-oriented and rooted in time-tested Ayurvedic principles, ensuring safe, natural, and sustainable outcomes. In my practice, Ayurvedic facials are more than just cosmetic procedures; they are therapeutic treatments tailored to the unique constitution of each individual, aiming to restore inner and outer harmony. By incorporating dosha-based skincare routines and traditional beauty therapies, I help patients achieve visible improvement in conditions like pigmentation, acne, hair fall, and premature aging—without relying on chemical-based solutions. My goal is to blend classical Ayurveda with a practical, patient-focused approach. Whether managing chronic skin concerns, offering customized herbal solutions, or delivering rejuvenative Panchakarma therapies, I ensure each treatment is deeply personalized, holistic, and rooted in authentic Ayurvedic wisdom.

Gaining weight can be quite challenging for some individuals, especially when your natural metabolism is high or when you might have an imbalance in your doshas. From an Ayurvedic perspective, it sounds like vata dosha might be predominant in your prakriti, contributing to your leaner frame and high metabolism. Often, vata types are naturally thin, and gaining weight can require a bit more effort and focused strategies. First, eating 'a lot' might not be enough if it's not directed towards the right type of nourishing foods. Include more grounding and warming foods in your diet. For instance, use whole grains like brown rice or quinoa and add healthy fats such as ghee and coconut oil. Nuts should be a staple, almonds, walnuts, and seeds like sesame should be in your pack to snack on. These foods can help balance vata, providing the body with plenty of nutrition for the tissues (dhatus) to build upon. Proteins play a key role too, so consider consuming dairy, like milk and cheese if you tolerate them well. Lentils and legumes can also provide energy needed for growth. Try a warm milk with turmeric or ashwagandha powder at night; it nourishes and might help in building a more robust body frame. Lifestyle changes are important as well, avoid cold and dry environments as they're not favourable for vata types. Regular oil massages with sesame oil can help promote circulation and nourish the skin, encouraging fat tissue development. Focus on a balanced daily routine (dinacharya) to maintain consistency, as this will optimize your agni, or digestive fire. Make sure not to skip meals and maintain regular sleeping patterns. Adequate rest allows your body to regenerate properly and supports healthy weight gain. If despite these changes, you continue not see any improvement or feel unwell, it can be helpful to consult directly with an Ayurvedic practitioner or healthcare provider. They can help you identify any underlying conditions and develop a personalized plan. Remember, achieving changes in body compositions naturally takes time and patience.
