Hlo,

Hello 🙏 Based on the details you shared, here is a short Ayurvedic understanding and simple prescription.

🌿 Ayurvedic Understanding Night-time cough with sore throat in children is commonly due to - Kapha–Vata imbalance. - Cold exposure, dust, weather change, or mild infection leads to Kapha accumulation in the throat and chest, causing irritation and cough, which worsens at night.

🌿 Prescription (Safe & Simple) 1️⃣ For Cough & Sore Throat Age above 1 year

- Honey + Ginger juice 👉 Mix ½ tsp honey + 2–3 drops fresh ginger juice 👉 Give 2 times daily, especially at night OR - Sitopaladi Churna 👉 ¼ tsp + honey 👉 Twice daily after food

2️⃣ Warm Relief Give lukewarm water to drink Do steam inhalation with plain water (5 minutes, once daily, supervised)

🌿 Immunity Booster (Ayurvedic) Daily Food Support Warm milk with a pinch of turmeric at night

Soft foods: rice gruel, dal soup, vegetable soup Avoid cold foods, ice cream, curd at night

Herbal Immunity Support - Drakshasava – 2.5 ml + equal water, once daily after lunch (mild immunity & throat strengthener) OR - Chyawanprash – ¼ tsp in the morning (if age >3 years)

🚫 Avoid Cold water, cold fruits at night Fried, bakery, packaged foods Direct fan/AC on face while sleeping

⚠️ When to See a Doctor Fever persists Wheezing or breathing difficulty Cough lasts more than 7–10 days If you tell me your daughter’s age, I can adjust the exact dosage for her 🌸

Hello Thanks for sharing this. It’s super common for kids to get a cough, especially when their immune system is a bit down or the weather changes.

Since your daughter’s cough just started this week and mostly happens at night, we can totally handle it with some gentle Ayurvedic care.

YOUR CONCERN

Cough Less than a week Worsens At night Other complaints - Sore throat

Treatment goal- Stop the cough, boost her immunity, and keep it safe for a kid.

AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING

Usually, this kind of cough means: –There’s too much Kapha (snot buildup). –A little Vata making the cough worse at night. –Her digestion (Agni) is a bit weak, which affects immunity.

In Ayurveda, we call this Kaphaja Kasa (a fresh cough) * It’s not a big deal. * Easy fixes work really well. * Taking care of it now stops it from coming back.

TREATMENT GOAL * Make her throat feel better. * Less coughing at night. * Get rid of that mild stuffiness. * Gently make her immune system stronger.

AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT

SAFE SYRUPS (Pick one):

* Kofol Syrup (Baidyanath / Charak) * Honitus for Kids (Himalaya)

–5 ml –Twice a day after she eats.

HOME REMEDIES (They really work!):

Honey + warm water (Only if she’s over 1 year old) * ½ teaspoon honey * Once at night before bed. * This will calm her throat and lessen night coughs.

Turmeric Milk (if she likes it) * A tiny bit of turmeric * In warm milk * At night.

FOODS TO BOOST IMMUNITY(Kid-friendly!):

INCLUDE * Warm milk * Ghee – ½ teaspoon every day * Soft cooked rice and lentils * Veggie soups * Fruits: apple, pomegranate

AVOID * Cold water * Ice cream, chocolate * Baked goods * Curd at night

Daily Tips & Staying Healthy:

* Keep her chest and feet cozy. * No direct fan or AC at night. * Steam if she’s okay with it (just plain steam). * Make sure she gets good sleep.

You’re doing great by catching this early. With some gentle Ayurveda, your daughter’s cough should clear up fast, and her immune system will get a natural boost.

Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate
