Xanthomas, those fatty deposits you're talking about, often surface around the eyelids due to high cholesterol, like in your case. While they might seem cosmetic, they indicate an imbalance in your body's way of handling fats. From an Ayurvedic perspective, this typically involves derangement of kapha dosha, which governs the body's structure and fluids. Firstly, addressing your cholesterol is important. I'd recommend shifting your diet towards foods that balance kapha. Favor lighter, warmer foods; opt for whole grains like barley, millets and red rice. Incorporate more veggies such as bitter gourd, fenugreek, and leafy greens into your meals. Avoid cold, heavy, and oily foods – think twice before reaching for that fried snack, you know? Let's also not overlook your agni, or digestive fire. Digestive health crucial to managing these imbalances. You might consider some simple herbal home remedies like drinking warm water with fresh lemon juice in the morning to stimulate digestion. Trikatu churna, a combination of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper, can also be beneficial for enhancing metabolism when taken with honey maybe once or twice a day. Lifestyle tweaks can also aid you in managing xanthomas. Engage in regular physical activity, even a brisk walk for 30 minutes daily can be transformative. Yoga, pranayama, and meditation can effectively reduce stress levels, indirectly aiding cholesterol control. Yet, managing these at home is only part of the journey. It's essential to keep up with regular checkups with your healthcare provider to monitor cholesterol levels and the progression of these deposits. For the symptom itself, Ayurvedic topical applications might not suffice without systemic changes, so, any creams or ointments would be supplementary. If these deposits persist and become a cosmetic concern, surgical options like laser treatment might be discussed with a dermatologist. Remember not to delay consulting with a specialist.
