I am currently working as an Associate Professor and Ayurvedic Consultant at a reputed Ayurvedic medical college in Karnataka. My dual role in academics and clinical practice allows me to stay deeply connected with both the foundational principles of Ayurveda and their real-world application in patient care. With years of experience in teaching and treating patients, I have developed a strong grounding in classical Ayurvedic texts as well as hands-on expertise in managing a wide spectrum of health conditions. In my academic role, I am involved in mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students, guiding them through theoretical understanding, clinical training, and practical application of Ayurvedic medicine. I actively participate in departmental research, workshops, and case discussions, fostering a learning environment that emphasizes both scientific inquiry and traditional wisdom. As a consultant, I provide holistic Ayurvedic care for chronic lifestyle disorders, musculoskeletal problems, women’s health issues, gastrointestinal diseases, and skin disorders. My treatment plans are deeply personalized, based on a thorough assessment of Prakriti (body constitution) and Vikriti (imbalance), integrating herbal medicine, Panchakarma therapies, dietary advice, and preventive health strategies. I strongly believe in the importance of patient education and preventive care. Whether I am managing a complex condition or offering day-to-day wellness support, my aim is always to treat the root cause and promote long-term healing. I also collaborate with fellow practitioners and students to stay updated with advancements in Ayurvedic research and contribute meaningfully to the field. My commitment lies in offering authentic, evidence-based, and compassionate Ayurvedic care while nurturing the next generation of Ayurveda professionals with the same values.

Irregular periods can certainly be frustrating especially when trying to conceive. From an Ayurvedic perspective, it's important to balance your doshas and maintain a strong agni or digestive fire, as well as nourish your dhatus or body tissues. Let's explore a few methods that can, hopefully, nudge your cycle towards regularity and support conception. First off, you might want to pay attention to your lifestyle and diet, since they play crucial roles in hormonal balance and regular menstruation. Begin by following a Vata pacifying diet, because irregular periods often link with a Vata imbalance. This would include warm, oily, and cooked foods, like sweet potatoes, soups or stews, avoiding cold and raw items. Think nourishing and wholesome! Include herbs like Ashwagandha and Shatavari in your daily routine, well-known for their ability to support reproductive health. You could take them as a churnas (powders) or look for supplements that contain these ingredients. For dosage, it's typically around 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon with warm milk or water, twice a day, but you might want to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice. Regular practice of yoga and pranayama can also help, especially poses like Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose) and Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-The-Wall Pose), known to enhance pelvic circulation and balance hormones. Aim for gentle routines focusing on grounding and calming. Don't forget stress, the sneaky culprit! Incorporating meditation or simple breathing exercises for just 10-15 minutes daily might help keep anxiety at bay. Remember, emotional balance is quite significant in Ayurveda. Lastly but not least, consider scheduling an appointment with an Ayurvedic physicion for a comprehensive evaluation of your unique prakriti (constitution). They would look at your lifestyle, other ongoing health symptoms, and genral constitution to offer a more tailored plan. Consistency is key. Patiently following these recommendations might help your body find its natural rhythm, paving the path towards conception. If your cycles remain irregular or you face any new issues, there's no harm in seeking conventional medical help to rule out underlying conditions. Good luck, and may your path to motherhood be joyful!
