Addressing skin issues like eczema and fungal infections through Ayurvedic principles focuses on understanding the root cause and balancing the body’s doshas. In your case, such skin conditions may hint towards an imbalance in Pitta and Kapha doshas. First off, it’s vital to focus on a cooling, anti-inflammatory diet. Since you’re vegetarian, that’s a great start. Emphasize foods like cucumber, zucchini, leafy greens and avoid spicy, oily or very sour foods which can aggravate Pitta.

Incorporate herbs such as turmeric and neem in your diet, both known for their anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties. Regular consumption could help ease the infection over time. Consider turmeric milk before bedtime, but ensure it’s well-cooked to keep it light on digestion. Neem juice or powder is also helpful; you might want to try taking it with warm water in the morning.

Maintaining hygiene is critical, but avoid over-drying your skin with hot showers or harsh soaps, as these can further exacerbate eczema. Use gentle, natural cleansers and moisturizers with coconut oil or aloe vera, which can help soothe and maintain moisture balance.

Externally, you could apply a paste made from sandalwood and rose water to the affected areas. This traditional remedy is praised for its soothing and cooling properties. Use it once a day and see how your skin responds. Additionally, regular gentle exfoliation with oatmeal mixed in water or honey might help remove dead skin cells without irritation, once or twice a week would be enough.

Daily practices, like Pranayama and Yoga, aid in reducing stress, which is known to trigger eczema flare-ups. Try incorporating at least 15-20 minutes of deep breathing exercises daily.

Remember, while these measures can provide relief, if the condition worsens or doesn’t improve, do consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized guidance. Ayurveda values individual constitution deeply, so personal advice is key. Be patient; true healing can be gradual.
