Facial warts are often caused by certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV). Once the virus infiltrates the skin, it can lead to wart formation which might spread if not controlled. The rise in number can be due to direct contact, touching or scratching the warts, or even shaving over them, as this can potentially spread the virus across your face. To prevent further increase of warts, it’s essential to adopt certain hygienic practices. Avoid touching your face unnecessarily, especially if you have a current wart. Keep your skin clean but not overly dry. A good practice is to use individual towels and other personal items so the virus doesn’t spread. It’s also advisable to monitor your immunological health since a weakened immune system can contribute to the spread and growth of warts. Ayurveda provides several methods to address warts naturally, aligning with your specific dosha and body constitution. Applying a paste of turmeric with neem can be beneficial due to their antiviral and antibacterial properties. Turmeric should be mixed with a bit of water to form a paste and applied directly onto the warts, leaving it on for 20-30 minutes before washing it off. Do this daily. Another option is the juice from marigold flowers or the milk extracted from a slightly cut stem of milkweed can be beneficial for its antiviral properties. However, always do a patch test to ensure there’s no allergic reaction. Diet-wise, aim to reduce the consumption of oily, heavy foods that disturb your Agni (digestive fire) as proper digestion is crucial for healthy skin. Boosting your immune system with a balanced diet containing amla (Indian gooseberry), triphala, and giloy can also be very beneficial. These bring balance to the doshas and support your body’s natural defense mechanisms. Cost-wise, Ayurvedic options are generally affordable. You might need to invest in good-quality herbs and proper food items which can fit into a regular budget. However, if self-treatment doesn't lead to improvements, consulting an ayurvedic practitioner or healthcare professional would be important to address these stubborn warts correctly. Remember, while Ayurvedic treatments can be effective, patience is key as they don’t provide overnight results. If the warts persist or increase and cause concern, it’s crucial to consult a medical professional to explore other medical options.
