For a condition like typhoid fever persisting over such a long period, especially when tested positive repeatedly, it's crucial to first ensure there's no underlying medical condition that requires immediate modern medical intervention. Typhoid is usually addressed effectively with antibiotics, so it's unusual for it to persist this way. I would strongly advice to consult with a healthcare professional who specialize in infectious diseases, to determine whether any specific resistances or complications are at play. In parallel with that, Ayurveda can offer supportive care, focusing on boosting immunity and reducing symptoms like the body ache. It's essential to understand that Ayurveda looks at each individual uniquely, ensuring suggestions align with your mom's prakriti (constitution). Firstly, enhance digestion and agni (digestive fire). Weak digestion can hinder recovery. If she's comfortable, start with trikatu churna (a blend of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper) - a 1/4 teaspoon with honey before meals can help improve digestion and metabolism. Drinking warm ginger tea might also support this process. Dietary-wise, consider easily digestible, warm foods like khichdi made with rice and mung dal, as it's gentle on the digestive system. Avoid heavy, oily, and spicy foods which might further aggravate any imbalance. For body ache, a gentle self-massage with warm sesame oil followed by a warm bath can provide some relief. Ensure she stays warm, as cold can intensify aches. Maintain adequate hydration with boiled and cooled water, perhaps infused with healing herbs like tulsi or mint for additional benefits. Ensure she's resting adequately, as sleep is restorative and vital for recovery. Regular yoga or pranayama, if she feels up to it, can also gradually enhance vitality and help manage stress, which may contribute to overall well-being. These suggestions are adjunctive. Realistically, thorough medical evaluation by a healthcare professional is a priority—particularly for long-lasting cases like this one. Typhoid can become complex, and addressing its root cause requires coordination between ayurvedic care and allopathic treatment if needed.
