Is It Better to Take Shilajit in the Morning or at Night for Optimal Benefits? - #22348

Aubrey

I am kinda confused about when to take shilajit, like should I take shilajit in the morning or at night? I’ve been reading a lot, and some sources say morning is best for energy boost, but others suggest night is better for all those recovery benefits or something. I started taking it last week, and honestly, I feel a bit different, like not way more energized but not sleepy, you know? I thought I was gonna feel a big change! I just don’t know if taking shilajit in the morning is making me a bit jittery or if it's just my head messing. My friend takes it in the evening and she's like sleeping way better. But I don’t wanna miss out on energy for my day job either. Do you think it’s possible that when I take shilajit could affect how I function? Like, should I try it at a different time and see if my whole routine gets better? I’m just worried I'll mess things up trying to figure it out. Any advice on the timing? Like what has been your experiences? Should I take shilajit in the morning or at night for the best results or does it even matter? Really appreciate any thoughts you guys can share about when's the best time to consume it!

Taking shilajit can indeed impact your energy levels and overall well-being, and the timing of when you take it can play a role in how you feel. Shilajit, according to Ayurveda, is a valuable rasayana, or rejuvenative substance, known for enhancing vitality and supporting the body’s innate energy. The effects of shilajit can vary depending on your individual prakriti (constitution) and current state of balance. If you find that shilajit makes you feel a bit jittery in the morning or affects your concentration, it may be worth trying in the evening, as your friend does, to see if it aids in restful sleep and overall recovery. Given that shilajit helps to harmonize the doshas, it's important to be attuned to how your body responds at different times. For someone with a kapha constitution or predominance, taking shilajit in the morning might be more beneficial. It energizes and may support metabolism throughout the day. On the other hand, pitta types or those with stress-induced insomnia might find it more soothing to consume shilajit in the evening, aiding in tissue repair and promoting restful sleep. To ensure that you’re reaping the full benefits of shilajit, experiment with the timing by observing how you feel with different schedules. You can start with the morning dose on days you need that boost for your day job. If that doesn't suit, switch to evening for a week or more. It's a process of fine-tuning that should ideally align with your lifestyle and doshic needs. Of course, it is crucial to maintain consistency once you find what works best. Ensure that you are taking a pure, high-quality shilayit and that your overall diet is supporting your specific dosha. It may also be helpful to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner to evaluate your personal constitution and health goals more closely. If you're experiencing persistent issues like jitters, it could be wise to review your entire lifestyle, as this could indicate an imbalance or sensitivity needing more careful adjustment. These small steps and observations over time often lead to optimal results.
