Is it safe for me to take shilajit at night, considering my health issues? - #22357

Isabella

I am been thinking a lot about shilajit lately because I've read so many good things about it, but totally unsure about the timing when to take it. So I was wondering, can I take shilajit at night? I've been dealing with a ton of stress lately and my energy levels are super low. I know people say shilajit is great for energy and stamina, but like, I'm worried it might mess with my sleep if I take it too late. What if I want a good night sleep, but also need the benefits of shilajit? So confused!! My friend told me he uses shilajit in the mornings and feels amazing, but then I’m also hearing some folks saying taking shilajit at night can be fine too. Ugh, I just need clarity! Plus, I sometimes struggle with staying up too late because of my anxieties. Can shilajit make me jittery or is it more calming? I also sometimes deal with minor digestion issues, which makes me wonder if taking it at night might help or hurt that too? So yeah, can I take shilajit at night or should I stick to mornings? Any insights would really help! Thanks a lot!

Taking shilajit at night can be a bit tricky, particularly considering your stress and energy concerns. Shilajit is indeed known for its energy-boosting properties, due to its rich mineral content, including fulvic acid, which helps improve energy levels and stamina. However, because of its energizing nature, some people might experience increased alertness or even difficulty sleeping when taking it late in the day. Considering your stress and anxiety issues, it's important to find a balance that works for you. It might be a good idea to start by taking shilajit in the morning. This way, you can gauge how it affects your energy levels and mood throughout the day without it interfering with your sleep cycle. Taking it in the morning may help you feel more energetic and focused, possibly leading to a reduction in stress levels as your general vitality improves. Now about your digestion concerns, as shilajit can bolster digestive function due to its ability to enhance metabolic processes (or agni in Ayurvedic terms). Starting with a smaller dose – like a pea-sized amount mixed in warm water or milk in the morning – could help minimize any potential digestive discomfort, while still allowing you to experience its benefits. Observing how your body responds to this regimen might provide valuable insights. If you're determined to try it at night despite potential sleep disruptions, maybe start with a very small dose, and see how you respond. However, listen to your body, because if you notice trouble with sleep or increased agitation, it's probably better to shift back to a morning routine. Ayurveda emphasizes personalized treatments, so adapting as you monitor your response is essential. Remember to ensure the shilajit you are using is genuine and pure to avoid any adverse reactions. If your anxiety or digestive issues do not improve, or if you're unsure, consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner who can assess your specific situation and doshic imbalances would be a wise step forward.
