Dr. Hemanshu Mehta
I’m Dr. Hemanshu, a second-year MD scholar specializing in Shalya Tantra (Ayurvedic Surgery), with a focused interest in para-surgical interventions such as Agnikarma, Viddhakarma, and Kshara Karma. My academic and clinical journey is rooted in classical Ayurvedic surgical wisdom, complemented by a modern understanding of patient care and evidence-based approaches. With hands-on training and experience in managing chronic pain conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, hemorrhoids, fistula, and other ano-rectal conditions, I provide treatments that emphasize both relief and long-term wellness. I am deeply committed to offering individualized treatment plans that align with the patient’s prakriti (constitution), disease progression, and lifestyle factors. I believe healing is not limited to procedures alone; it also requires compassion, communication, and continuity of care. That’s why I ensure each patient receives personalized guidance—from diagnosis and therapy to post-treatment care and preventive strategies. I also incorporate Ayurvedic principles like Ahara (diet), Vihara (lifestyle), and Satvavajaya (mental well-being) to promote complete healing and not just symptomatic relief. Whether it's managing complex surgical cases or advising on conservative Ayurvedic therapies, my goal is to restore balance and improve the quality of life through authentic, safe, and holistic care. As I continue to deepen my clinical knowledge and surgical acumen, I remain dedicated to evolving as a well-rounded Ayurvedic practitioner who integrates traditional practices with modern sensibilities.

Hello Did you have Check up from ENT specialist? You need a physical check.. Some tips you can try - Apply Warm Compress Apply a warm cloth to your jaw joints (near the ear) 3–4 times a day for 10–15 minutes to relax the muscles. # You also try Jaw Stretching Exercises Gently insert two fingers between your upper and lower teeth, hold for 10 seconds, then try to stretch slightly over days with supervision. Stop if pain increases. # apply Yashtimadhu churna paste inside the cheek if there’s burning or tightness. > Avoid cold, sour, or hard foods. Stick to soft, warm food.

It sounds like you're experiencing a condition that could be related to temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, which can restrict the opening of the mouth and cause pain in the jaw. Ayurveda offers several strategies which can assist in alleviating symptoms, focusing on addressing potential imbalances in the body. Firstly, diet plays a crucial role in managing vata dosha, often imbalanced in such cases. Consider including warm, soft foods that are easier to chew, like cooked vegetables, soups and stews. Avoid very hard or chewy foods as they can put strain on your jaw. Consuming warm milk with a pinch of turmeric at night might help in reducing inflammation and soothing pain. Daily oil massage, or Abhyanga, may help too. Use warm sesame oil or ashwagandha oil, gently massaging the jaw, neck, and temple area. Doing this before a bath can release the tension in the muscles surrounding the jaw. Next, some Ayurvedic remedies might offer relief: one is yoga and pranayama to reduce overall stress and anxiety, as they can exacerbate symptoms. Specifically, Ujjayi breathing and meditation might help. Herbs such as Haritaki, Guggul, and Shallaki can be beneficial in managing inflammation and pain. A tea made from ginger and turmeric may support these efforts. Performing specific jaw exercises could eventually enhance flexibility. Try opening and closing your mouth gently within your comfort and using warm compresses to relax the muscles. Remember, if the pain persists or worsens, it's important to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any serious underlying conditions as Ayurveda can complement but not replace essential medical care. Lastly, avoid excessive talking, yawning wide, or chewing gum in order to give your jaw time to heal.
