how much shilajit per day - #23284

Anthony

I am a bit confused about how much shilajit per day I should be taking. I've started using shilajit because I've been feeling really tired and low on energy lately. I read somewhere that it can help boost stamina and maybe even improve focus. So, I tried taking a tiny bit yesterday, like just a little dab, but I felt kinda wired and then crashed later. Not sure if I overdid it or what. Today, I took even less, but I’m not sure if that's right either. Can someone please help me figure out how much shilajit per day is actually safe? Like, is there a specific dose I should stick to for energy without going overboard? Thanks!

When it comes to using shilajit, finding the right balance is key, especially for energy concerns. In Ayurveda, shilajit might be used to enhance energy and stamina because of its rejuvenating properties. However, the daily dose can depend on individual factors like your prakriti (constitution), current health status, and any imbalances you might experiencing. Generally speaking, a common recommended daily dose ranges anywhere from 300 to 500 mg per day. This can vary depending on the specific form of shilajit you have (like resin, powder, or extract), so it's always a good idea to start on the lower end just to see how your body responds. You mentioned feeling wired then experiencing a crash, suggesting you may be quite sensitive to it. In that case, starting with just 100-150 mg could be more appropriate for you. Take the shilajit preferably in the morning, mixed in warm water or milk, to avoid any potential for a disruptive boost right before sleep. Pay attention to how your body feels throughout the day after consuming it. If you notice any energy spikes or crashes, consider adjusting the dosage slightly or taking it with a heavier breakfast to steady the effect. In addition to dosage, make sure to focus on complementary lifestyle adjustments. Supportive practices like rising right before sunrise, practicing morning meditation or yoga, and maintaining a balanced diet according to your dosha can help sustain energy levels more naturally without over-reliance on supplements. If you're unsure of your constitutional type or experiencing complex imbalances, it may be wise to consult with a an Ayurvedic practitioner who can provide more personalized guidance. This can be beneficial not just for dosage advice, but to address the underlying cause of your fatigue. Should the fatigue continues despite adjustments, it could be indicative of other health concerns that require further evaluation.
