What are the medicines which I have to take

Hello, Acid reflux can be handled with ayurveda medicines only if appropriate diet and lifestyle is followed. Or-else you will feel good when you are on medication and symptoms will recur as soon as you stop the medications. 1. Start practicing yoga-pranayama. 2. Chew your food properly; eat freshly cooked warm home food as much as possible. 3. Eat only when you are hungry 4. Hydrate yourself with cumin water and add ajwain tea. 5. Avoid coffee/tea in empty stomach; limit yourself to 1-2 cups

Medicines to consider: 1. Yashtimadhu milk decoction in empty stomach in the morning. 2. Syp. Ulsant D 1tsp-----1tsp-----1 tsp 30 minutes before food. Take care. Kind regards.

Sanket, struggling with acid reflux for two years can be quite frustrating, especially after trying different approaches. In Ayurveda, we aim to balance the agni or digestive fire and address any dosha imbalances that might contributing to your condition. Acid reflux is often associated with an aggravation of the Pitta dosha, leading to excess heat and acidity in the stomach.

Firstly, diet is very essential. You should reduce or avoid foods that are oily, spicy, and high in acid. Opt for a Pitta-soothing diet, which includes cooling foods like cucumbers, melons, asparagus, and leafy greens. Cook with ghee instead of oil; it’s soothing and can help balance Pitta. Drinks coconut water, buttermilk, and herbal teas like licorice or coriander, which can help calm down any excess heat in your system.

Take meals at regular times and eat slowly, allowing your body to properly digest the food. Avoid overeating, which can strain the digestive system. It might help to keep a food diary to identify any particular foods that trigger your symptoms as everyone has diffenrent triggers.

Lifestyle changes are equally crucial. Try to manage your stress as it’s known to exacerbate symptoms. Incorporate gentle yoga, meditation, or pranayama like sheetali pranayama to aid in calming your mind and body. Elevate the head of your bed or avoid lying down immediately after eating to prevent acid flowing back up the esophagus.

In terms of Ayurvedic remedies, you may consider taking Avipattikar churna which is known to balance excess Pitta and soothe reflux. Usually it is recommended to take 1/2 tsp with warm water before meals and before bedtime. However, it’s important to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner before starting any herbal regimen, especially if you are on, any other medication.

If your symptoms persist, it’s crucial to seek further medical attention to rule out any underlying conditions that may require different treatment. Remember, listening to your body and making gradual adjustments can be your best guides to finding relief.
