Start Under-Eye Oil Massage (Daily Night) Use 1–2 drops of one of these oils: ✅ Almond oil (best if you have dry skin) ✅ Kumkumadi Tailam (for pigmentation + brightness) ✅ Jiva or Biotique under-eye gel (non-oily option) Gently massage with your ring finger in circular motion, 2 mins. 👉 This improves blood flow and reduces discoloration over time. --- 🧊 2. Cooling & Hydrating Packs (3–4x a week) Use any of these cold, natural packs under eyes for 15 mins: Cucumber slices (classic, cools instantly) Rose water + aloe vera gel (chilled) Green tea bags (used & cold) – rich in antioxidants Raw potato juice + cotton pad – lightens pigmentation

Dark circles can indeed be persistent, especially if they are inherited, but Ayurveda offers some natural remedies that might help. Primarly, it's important to address any potential imbalances in your doshas. Vata dosha can be related to dryness and itching, so calming vata might improve the dryness you experience. Firstly, consider your diet: Include foods that have a natural cooling and nourishing effect, such as fresh fruits (grapes, berries) and leafy vegetables. Hydration is crucial – drink ample water and consider adding herbs like Tulsi or Ashwagandha teas, they can balance the body's energies. For itching and dryness, incorporate ghee (clarified butter) into your diet. Ghee is excellent in pacifying vata and nourishing the skin from within. Applying a thin layer of almond oil gently around your eyes in the evening can provide external moisturization and may help lighten dark circles over time. Sleep is significant. Ensure you're getting adequate rest – 7 to 8 hours a night can make a tremendous difference since lack of sleep exacerbates dark shadows. Create a calming nighttime routine perhaps with chamomile tea or warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg. Regular self-massages (abhyanga) with warm sesame or almond oil can greatly help with skin nourishment. Pay special attention to massaging your temples and forehead. Take care on reducing digital screen exposure, since excessive screen-time can contribute to eye strain and dark circles. Consider incorporating the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds, this relieves eye strain. For an external remedy, try a paste made from turmeric with a few drops of pineapple juice and apply it under the eyes for a few minutes before rinsing. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties that may reduce puffiness too. If the itching persists and is troublesome, a gentle application of rose water on cotton pads over your eyelids might soothe the irritation. But, if you find the symptoms worsening, or if the dryness is severe, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional promptly to rule out any underlying issues. Remember, these remedies are supportive. Managing stress levels through yoga or meditation might prove beneficial and harmonize your overall body balance, which eventually reflects on your skin's health.
