can viagra delay ejaculation - #24550

Emma

I am really in a bit of a pickle here. A while back, I started having some issues in the bedroom. My partner and I were just not on the same page, if you know what I mean. I read somewhere that some people have used Viagra to help with their...uh, performance. I’m not totally comfortable with the whole idea of pills, but after some chats with friends, it seems to be common. Now I’m wondering, can Viagra delay ejaculation? Like, would it help me last longer? I mean, I tried to bring it up with my doc, but the conversation felt kinda awkward and I didn’t get a straight answer. Plus, I'd really rather tackle this naturally if possible. I’ve been trying relaxation techniques and all, but maybe it's not enough? Could it be that Viagra might help with both, you know? Or does it just really work for the "other" issue? I guess I’m just searching for clarity before making a choice. Any insights would be super helpful!

Viagra, or sildenafil, is mainly designed to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) by increasing blood flow to the penis, thereby facilitating the ability to maintain an erection. It is not explicitly used for delaying ejaculation or treating premature ejaculation (PE). So if your primary hurdle is about lasting longer, rather than achieving or maintaining an erection, Viagra might not directly address that concern.

Viagra works by enhancing erectile response, but is not directly linked to prolonging the time before ejaculation. Some studies suggest it might have a slight effect on ejaculation time for some men, but it’s not a primary treatment for PE. If you’re looking for natural alternatives, Ayurveda offers some insights connected to balancing your vata dosha, which can affect stress levels, anxiety and, in turn, performance.

To go the Ayurvedic route, consider balancing your vata dosha by opting for a diet rich in warm, cooked foods, like soups and stews. Include oily, grounding foods like ghee and nuts. Herbs such as Ashwagandha and Shatavari can support overall vitality and reduce stress. Practicing daily meditation or pranayama can help reduce anxiety and promote relaxation, which might indirectly help with your performance.

For technique, try applying the squeeze or start-stop method, which can help you build more control over your body’s responses. Consider also setting aside some time for couple yoga, which can pave the way for deeper connection without the pressure of performance.

But if your symptoms are persistent, or causing significant distress, it’s essential to address this with a healthcare provider who can offer targeted advice or treatment. Prioritize checking in with your healthcare professional, especially before trying any new treatment, be it Ayurveda or conventional medicine.
