The first time I got intimate I had itching and burning and sometimes pain while peeing and even without peeing... I used to get itching in the vagina as well as in the pee hole... Now if I drink more water and keep peeing throughout the day then I will be kind of subsided....but if miss out on drinking water even for a few hours.... Itching, burning and discomfort starts again... So I'll have to drink more and more water to become normal again. I'm so done with it..... How many days of treatment is it? What is the diagnosis of my problem? Why is it not getting cured? I'm around 5 weeks pregnant...so is it fine to take these?
Addressing persistent UTIs and vaginal infections through Ayurveda requires a comprehensive approach that includes dietary changes, lifestyle modifications, and herbal remedies focused on balancing doshas and enhancing Agni. Here’s a tailored plan you can follow: 1. **Hydration** is crucial. You mentioned that ample water intake helps alleviate symptoms. Continue this habit but incorporate cooling and diuretic herbal teas. Boil coriander seeds and fenugreek seeds (1 tsp each) in 2 cups of water, strain, and drink warm. This helps reduce Pitta dosha aggravation, which often links to burning sensations. 2. **Dietary Adjustments**: Prioritize foods that pacify Pitta and Kapha, as both need balance here. Avoid spicy, fried, and overly sour foods. Focus on cooling, light meals like mung dal, bitter gourd, and steamed vegetables. Ate lots of fresh fruits like watermelon, pears, and pomegranates which help cool and detoxify the system. 3. **Probiotics**: Strengthening your body's natural defense against infections can help. Consume fermented foods such as homemade yoghurt or buttermilk, but sparingly if you have Kapha imbalance (indicated by the presence of discharge). 4. **Herbal Remedies**: Use Triphala powder. Take 1 teaspoon with warm water before bed. It aids detoxification and reduces inflammation. An effective Ayurvedic herb blend like Chandraprabha vati can help with UTI symptoms. 5. **Local Application and Washes**: Prepare a vaginal wash using neem leaves. Boil a handful of neem leaves in water, let it cool, and wash the affected area. Neem's antimicrobial properties help reduce itching and burning. 6. **Practice Abhyanga (self-oil massage)**: Using cooling oils such as coconut oil can soothe Pitta and pacify Vata discomfort at the same time. 7. **Consultation**: It's important you're seeking continued guidance from an Ayurvedic practitioner or a healthcare provider for monitoring and adjusting the approach as necessary. Since your symptoms have persisted for an extended period, additional professional input is advisable, particularly with the recurrent nature of infections. Be mindful that while Ayurveda can offer substantial relief, integrating other medical opinions may provide more comprehensive treatment, especially given the long-standing nature of your condition.
