I am really confused about this eladi choornam thing. I started using it a couple of weeks ago. After hearing a friend rave about how it helped her skin, I thought, why not give it a try? The problem is, I’m not sure how often I should be using it!! I’ve been applying eladi choornam daily, but now I’m starting to wonder, can I use eladi choornam daily without any issues? At first, my skin seemed to glow, but now I'm not so sure. Some days it feels a bit oily and sometimes I think I see a breakout forming on my cheek. I really want to keep using it cuz I love the way it smells, it's like a spa day every time I apply it (which is kinda cool!). Just worried that maybe I’m overdoing it. Should I stick to daily use or cut back a bit? Any advice would be awesome!!

When it comes to using Eladi Choornam daily, it’s essential to consider your skin type and current condition. Eladi Choornam is traditionally used in Ayurveda for enhancing skin health, but usage may vary depending on individual constitution, or prakriti, and specific skin concerns.

If your skin feels becomes oily or you’re noticing breakouts, it might be a sign of aggravation. In Ayurveda, this could indicate an imbalance related to excess Pitta or Kapha dosha in your skin. Daily usage might be too frequent for some people, especially, if your skin is sensitive or already prone to certain conditions.

Try this: reduce the frequency to 2-3 times a week and closely observe your skin’s response. See if the oiliness decrease and if the breakouts stop appearing. Eladi Choornam often works well when we follow moderation due to its mild detoxifying properties. Mixing it with a bit of honey or curd can also help balance out its effect, especially if you’re prone to oiliness.

Additionally, pay attention to your skincare routine and lifestyle. Use a gentle cleanser that doesn’t strip your skin of natural oils and moisturize with a light, suitable lotion. Ensure your diet and lifestyle not contributing to skin imbalance as well - drink enough water, avoid too much oily or spicy food, which might aggravate Pitta.

Adjust the application according to these signs from your body. The smell though, that’s certainly a lovely bonus which shouldn’t be taken away. Also, if you notice persistent issues or signs of irritation, consider consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner who can provide personalized recommendations based on your unique dosha and skin type. This hands-on guidance can be invaluable.
