Let's get to the core of your hair concerns. In Ayurveda, hair issues like yours often arise from an imbalance in the doshas, mainly Pitta and Vata. Here's what you can try: Firstly, assess your diet. Ensure it's rich in healthy fats, proteins, and vitamins like Vitamin E and zinc, which promote hair health. Incorporate more fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds into your diet. For instance, using coconut oil in cooking or as a supplement is excellent for balancing Pitta and nourishing the hair. When it comes to hair care, regular oiling is essential. Try an Ayurvedic oil like Bhringraj, Amla, or coconut oil. Warm the oil slightly and gently massage it into the scalp 30 minutes before shampooing. This promotes blood circulation, reduces stress, and helps strengthen the roots. A herbal rinse can work wonders too. Boil dried hibiscus flowers in water, let it cool, and use it as a final rinse after washing your hair. Hibiscus is known for nourishing the hair and reducing split ends. Herbal remedies like Amla powder, taken internally, can assist in promoting hair thickness and shine. Mix a teaspoon of Amla powder with water and consume daily in the morning, but don't overdo it as it's cooling in nature. Reduce the use of chemical-laden shampoos and opt for ones with natural ingredients. Avoid excessive heat styling or chemical treatments, as these contribute to hair damage. Finally, focus on managing stress through meditation or yoga. Stress can exacerbate hair loss and damage. Remember, these remedies require consistency and time. However, if the problem persists or worsens, it would be wise to consult an ayurvedic practitioner to dive deeper into your specific dosha imbalances.
