Addressing hair fall and promoting hair growth requires a holistic approach, considering your overall health and lifestyle. In Siddha-Ayurveda, hair health is closely related to the balance of doshas, especially Vata and Pitta. Imbalances here can manifest as hair thinning, loss, and brittleness. Start by focusing on your diet, which should be rich in natural and whole foods. Include fresh fruits, leafy greens, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and legumes. Particularly, add coconut, sesame seeds, and almonds, which help nourish the hair. Keep in mind the importance of good protein sources, as they are vital for hair repair and growth—consider lentils and beans as part of your meals. Regular oiling is crucial for combating Vata imbalances that cause dryness and frizziness. Use warm coconut or sesame oil and gently massage your scalp at least twice a week; this improves circulation and strengthens roots. Herbal oils like bhringraj and amla oil can also promote healthier hair growth. Managing both stress and weight is vital, as both contribute to hormonal imbalances impacting hair health. Practices like yoga and meditation help mitigate stress levels, while regular exercise assists in balancing weight and stimulating digestion. Also, ensure adequate hydration—at least 2 liters a day, since dehydration negatively affects the nourshment of hair. Consider Ayurvedic herbs such as Ashwagandha, Shatavari, and Brahmi, which support hormonal balance and improve overall vitality. They can be consumed as powders or tablets, but it's always wise to consult a practitioner before incorporating them into your routine. Finally, pay attention to any signs of scalp infections or persistent inflammation. If you notice severe persistent symptoms or rapid hair loss, it might be necessary to consult a healthcare provider, as these can indicate deeper underlying issues that require medical attention.

Addressing hair fall and promoting hair growth involves a comprehensive approach considering both internal and external factors. Hair issues can often link to dosha imbalances, particularly in Vata and Pitta. Here are some recommendations you can follow to address these concerns holistically: First, let’s focus on diet. Incorporating foods that are rich in proteins and omega-3 fatty acids can nourish hair. You should ensure to include nuts, seeds, leafy greens, and fruits like amla which is traditionally known for its hair-enhancing properties. Avoid spicy, acidic, or oily foods as they may aggravate Pitta dosha, contributing to hair issues. In terms of lifestyle, maintaining a routine is key. Aim for a balanced daily regimen with regular sleep patterns and avoid situations that create stress. Practicing yoga and meditation can help pacify mind and soothe the doshas aligning them more harmoniously within your body. For topical application, consider using Ayurvedic oils like Bhringraj or Brahmi oil for scalp massage. Massage gently in circular motions to improve blood circulation, nourish hair roots and promote growth. Doing this twice a week can be beneficial. Also, carefully choose hair care products that are free of harsh chemicals. Opt for natural, herbal-based shampoos and conditioners. Avoid washing hair excessively, as it strips natural oils which leads to dryness and frizzyness. As an overweight factor, it would be prudent to work on gradually losing weight. Doing so helps regulate hormones that can otherwise contribute to hair thinning. Focus on a balanced diet, routine exercise and staying hydrated. Limit caffeine and alcohol intake as well. Remember, a tailored approach factoring your individual constitution, current symptoms and lifestyle is essential. In case hair fall persists or worsens, it would be advisable to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner or dermatologist for a detailed examination.
