Indulekha Bringha Hair Oil - #28049

Hannah

I am really struggling with my hair health lately. For the past few months, I've noticed significant hair fall, and it’s just getting worse. I've tried a bunch of different shampoos and conditioners, but nothing seems to help. A friend of mine suggested Indulekha Bringha Hair Oil since she swears by it for her hair growth and thickness. I thought, why not give it a shot? After a week of using Indulekha Bringha Oil, I feel like I should see some results, right? But honestly, I’m not seeing much difference yet – no less hair on the brush or more shine or anything. I massage it into my scalp twice a week like the instructions say, but then I thought maybe I'm using too much or not enough? I'm just not sure. Also, my scalp sometimes gets itchy, which I guess could be from a new product? Like maybe it's too oily or not right for me? Did anyone out there have similar experiences? How long did you use Indulekha Bringha Hair Oil before you noticed improvements? I really hope it works because I’m starting to get kinda frustrated with this whole hair loss situation. Any advice??

Doctors' responses

Indulekha Bringha Hair Oil is popular for its blend of herbs like Bringharaj, which is considered beneficial in Ayurveda for supporting hair growth and health. However, expecting significant changes in just a week might be a bit premature. Hair growth takes time. It typically requires consistent use over several weeks to potentially see notable differences. Keep in mind that results can vary widely based on individual factors like your prakriti (constitution) and current dosha balance, so patience is key here.

Using the oil twice a week is generally a good frequency. If you experience itchiness, ensure you’re not applying too much oil – use just enough to lightly cover the scalp without it feeling too greasy. Massage gently in circular motions to boost circulation, but be careful not to apply too much pressure. Perhaps you can try a patch test to ensure it’s not an allergic reaction.

The concoction of ingredients in this oil might not suit everyone, though. If the itching persists, consider adjusting your routine slightly, or alternating with another relaxing oil like coconut or almond oil once in a while. Maybe allowing the oil on your head for less time before shampooing it out could reduce irritation.

Alongside topical application, considering Ayurvedic dietary and lifestyle recommendations might further benefit your hair health. Eating a balanced diet rich in healthy fats, proteins, and hydration supports hair from the inside out. Foods like amla (Indian gooseberry), sesame seeds, nuts, and leafy greens are regarded as conducive to hair growth. Refrain from excessive spicy, fried foods which can exacerbate pitta and result in hair issues.

If the oil doesn’t produce improvement despite these measures, exploring other products or treatments may be a wise choice. Persistent hair fall and itching could indicate underlying imbalances that perhaps require a deeper dive into Ayurvedic diagnostics to tackle the root cause.

Hair health and fall is a common struggle often rooted in deeper imbalances within your body. Regarding Indulekha Bringha Hair Oil, this is a traditional formulation inspired by Ayurvedic wisdom designed to nourish the scalp and promote healthy hair growth. But seeing tangible results in just a week might be optimistic; the body’s natural cycles often require more prolonged periods for noticeable change.

Indulekha Bringha Oil contains ingredients like Bringharaj, known for supporting hair growth and scalp health. Typically, it may take around 6 to 8 weeks of consistent use to see visible results, so patience is essential. Keep massaging it into your scalp twice a week but focus on using a moderate amount—too much might cause an overly oily scalp.

The itchiness you’re experiencing can sometimes be part of the scalp adapting to a new product. However, if it persists or worsens, consider the possibility of sensitivity to an ingredient in the oil. Adjust the amount and ensure you’re rinsing well post-application.

Besides the oil, it’s vital to consider underlying imbalances. Hair health is closely tied to your body’s doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). Hair fall may indicate a Vata or Pitta imbalance. Ensure your diet includes hydrating and cooling foods—coconut water, cucumber, or aloe vera juice can be beneficial. Enhancing your body’s agni with warm, home-cooked meals also supports the dhatus, particularly Rasa (plasma) and Rakta (blood), which are crucial for strong, healthy hair.

Try to manage stress and sleep well, as they significantly affect hair health. Practices like yoga, pranayama, or meditation can help balance your doshas and improve overall well-being.

If hair loss continues to be significant, consulting with a physician who integrates modern diagnostics with Ayurvedic principles can offer tailored advice and further explore any serious underlying issues.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
