It’s intriguing that despite consuming ample food including rice and snacks, and taking vitamins, you’re not seeing weight gain. To untangle this, let’s dive into some Ayurvedic insights.

First, consider your specific dosha. In Ayurveda, being underweight often associates with Vata imbalance, which can lead to issues like malabsorption and poor nutrition assimilation. Try incorporating Vata-pacifying foods: warm, heavy, moist meals are benefical. Opt for foods like ghee, almond milk, and root vegetables such as sweet potatoes. Avoid dry, cold, or raw foods. Eating freshly cooked meals rather than leftovers is also crucial.

You might also need to enhance your agni, or digestive fire. Weak digestion can prevent nutrients from absorbing efficiently. Ginger tea can be a great pre-meal stimulant. Try sipping on a cup about 20 minutes before eating. Sprinkling spices like cumin or fennel onto your meals could invigorate digestion and assist with nutrient uptake.

Revaluate how you’re consuming vitamin supplements as well. What’s their form and when are you taking them? Solubility and timing affect absorption — for fat-soluble vitamins, having them with meals containing some fat might be necessary for them to integrate into the body better.

Stress levels might unknowingly be playing a role. Chronic stress can disrupt metabolic processes. Incorporating calming practices, such as yoga or meditation — perhaps even ten minutes a day — could settle your mind and, over time, alter how your body handles calories and nutrients.

Lastly, consider environmental factors or lifestyle habits that have sneaked up: erratic sleeping patterns, excessive physical activity or emotional strain — each may be unknowingly influencing this stagnation. Attending to these, perhaps writing a journal to note symptoms or patterns could creat clarity. However, if this persists, keep consulting with doctors for further insights and perspectives.

Having trouble gaining weight can indeed feel frustrating, especially when you’re doing what seems like all the right things. In Siddha-Ayurvedic terms, this situation might be connected to your body’s unique constitution, or prakriti, alongside imbalances in your doshas, particularly vata. In some cases, despite eating well, the digestive fire, or agni, may not be functioning optimally to effectively assimilate the nutrients you’re consuming.

Firstly, it’s crucial to support your agni. Consider including spices like ginger, black pepper, and turmeric into your meals, as they can naturally stimulate digestive processes—especially before meals, a slice of fresh ginger with a pinch of rock salt can be quite beneficial. Opt for warm, cooked foods rather than raw foods which might dampen agni. Eating at regular intervals and avoiding late-night meals can also help stabilize your digestive rhythm.

Another factor might be stress or anxiety, which frequently disrupts the energy channels, or nadis, contributing to weight loss or inability to gain. Gentle yoga or pranayama (breathing exercises) like Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) can aid in balancing the vata dosha and establish calmness in the body and mind.

Additionally, evaluate the quality of your nutrition. Ensure you are taking balanced meals that include all sapta dhatus, or tissue systems—carbs, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals are all essential for nourishment and growth of muscle tissue. You might want to incorporate ghee into your diet; it’s considered an excellent vata-pacifier and supports tissue building.

Lastly, considering you have ruled out any serious underlying health conditions with a medical professional, focus on consistency with these practices. However, should symptoms persist or if you feel it’s affecting your lifestyle significantly, seek a consultation with a Siddha-Ayurvedic practitioner for a personalized in-depth evaluation to tailor solutions specific to your prakriti and dosha balance.
