AVP Balaguluchyadi Coconut Oil - #30769
I am really confused about my skin issues lately! For the past few months, I’ve been struggling with this dry, flaky skin on my arms and legs, and I can’t figure it out. Tried a bunch of creams but nothing works right. A friend recommended AVP Balaguluchyadi Coconut Oil, saying it really helped her with similar problems. I was like, “Really? Coconut oil?!” I’ve used coconut oil before, but this specific oil seems different or something, and I'm worried if it’s gonna actually help me or just be another letdown! Last week, I did a patch test and didn't have any reaction, which is good, but I don’t know if I should keep pushing forward or find something else that might be better for my skin type? Another thing, my skin gets super itchy sometimes, especially in the evenings and I don’t know if applying this AVP Balaguluchyadi Coconut Oil before bed would actually help calm it down or make it worse? Has anyone experienced anything similar? Do you think using it daily would be over doin' it? I'm just really eager to fix this before summer hits! Any advice or personal experiences? Thanks!

AVP Balaguluchyadi Coconut Oil is an interesting blend that can be actually very helpful for dry, flaky skin. As per Ayurveda, dry skin often relates to Vata dosha aggravation. This oil combines coconut oil’s nourishing properties with Ayurveda’s Balaguluchyadi formulation that can support in pacifying Vata.
Before continuing its use, consider your overall prakriti (constitution). If you naturally have more of a Vata constitution or experience dry skin during colder months, it might be particularly helpful. Applying the oil before bed sounds like a good idea, as it allows the oil to penetrate deeply overnight. If itchiness is exacerbating, this may provide the soothing effect you’re looking for. However, nightly use could feel heavy. Start with 3-4 times a week.
There’s a potential for the itchiness being caused by dryness, and coconut oil can help in retaining moisture. Balaguluchyadi provides additional anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. When applying, use gentle strokes to aid absorption. Consider warming the oil slightly before application as it enhances penetration.
Ensure you’re not exacerbating dryness through harsh soaps or very hot showers. Keeping alongside moisturizing routine post-bath, can be beneficial. Internally, balance your Vata by staying hydrated, including warm foods, and use oils for cooking like sesame or ghee.
Since you’ve done a patch test and saw no reaction, it’s a green light in terms of sensitivity. However, monitoring how your skin reacts after several applications is crucial. If irritation occurs, or if symptoms more severe persist, consulting with a practitioner could be more insightful.
If you’ve tried numerous creams without luck, incorporating this Ayurvedic oil, along with vata-balancing lifestyle changes, might just offer the relief. Keep observing for improvements and adjust the frequency accordingly. Remember, summer might demand lighter application due to humidity changes affecting skin’s moisture balance.
