Psoriasis, a chronic skin condition linked to an imbalance in the body’s dosha, often Vata & Pitta, can be quite challenging. The recent onset of hairfall may also be linked to stress or other dosha imbalances, possibly involving Vata and Pitta. Ayurveda emphasizes balance through diet, lifestyle, herbal remedies, and detoxification to manage these conditions effectively.

First, focus on your diet. Opt for a diet that’s cooling and pacifying for Vata and Pitta. Incorporate sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes in your meals. Avoid very spicy, oily or salty foods as they aggravate Pitta. More consumption of leafy greens like spinach, beet greens, as well as fruits like pears and apples can be beneficial. Stay well-hydrated.

Herbal remedies like Neem (Azadirachta indica) and turmeric (Curcuma longa) are traditionally used for their anti-inflammatory properties. Make a paste out of these with water, apply gently on affected areas, rinse off after 30 minutes. This could help soothe psoriasis.

For hairfall, Bhringraj (Eclipta Alba) is regarded as an effective remedy. Use it in powder form in concoction or in an oil base to massage on scalp regularly. Hair oils should be mild and preferably used in lukewarm form.

It’s also crucial to manage stress. Practices such as yoga, meditation, and pranayama (breathing exercises) help to center your body and reduce stress levels. Regular, gentle exercise improves circulation and overall wellbeing, aiding in skin and hair health recovery.

While it seems like you’ve explored multiple options, consider consulting with a seasoned Ayurveda practitioner who can provide personalized guidance. If symptoms worsen or persist, evaluate complementary approaches including current medical care.

Excessive hairfall and psoriasis seem interconnected through imbalances in your body’s energy systems — primarily vata and pitta doshas. Psoriasis is a common dermatological condition associated with pitta imbalances and sometimes aggravated by vata disorders. Understanding this interplay is key to addressing both issues.

Firstly, addressing your psoriasis: focus on reducing pitta in your diet and lifestyle. Avoiding spicy, oily, and acidic foods can help balance pitta. Include more cooling and hydrating foods like cucumbers, melons, and ghee. Herbal formulations like Amla or Neem — taken internally — work effectively to reduce inflammation and purify the blood, which can support alleviating psoriasis symptoms. Topically, plant oils like coconut or sesame, infused with herbs like Aloe Vera, applied regularly can soothe the skin, helping diminish psoriasis patches over time.

For excessive hairfall, it’s often related to both physical and emotional stresses impacting vata dosha, which governs bodily movements and functions. Keep your stress levels in check with regular relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation. Brahmi or Bhringraj oil massaged into the scalp can nourish the hair and promote regrowth. Also, including more protein-rich foods like lentils, and nuts may enhance hair health.

Drinking plenty of warm water throughout the day can help maintain optimal digestive fire or agni, which is crucial for both skin and hair health. If symptoms persist or worsen, it’s vital to consult a healthcare provider for a more comprehensive evaluation, especially since psoriasis can sometimes necessitate conventional medical intervention. Always consider seeking a balance between Ayurvedic remedies and professional health advice tailored to your needs.
