Sri Sri Tattva Anti Dandruff Lotion - #32149

Aubrey

I am really struggling with this dandruff issue and it's gotten pretty out of control lately. I mean, I’ve tried sooo many shampoos and treatments, but nothing seems to work. A couple weeks ago, I heard about this Sri Sri Tattva Anti Dandruff Lotion and I'm wondering if anyone here has actually had success with it. A friend of mine swears by it, saying it's the only thing that helped her dandruff after years of battling it, but I’m a bit skeptical, y'know? The itching on my scalp is driving me crazy and I’m embarrassed to wear dark colors now since I’m getting all these flakes everywhere. My scalp feels kinda oily too, which is annoying. I’ve also been feeling like some of the over-the-counter stuff just makes it worse – like I’ve tried this medicated shampoo recently, but it dried out my hair super bad! Has anyone here tried the Sri Sri Tattva Anti Dandruff Lotion? Did it help? Do I need to use it regularly or just as a spot treatment? And how fast can I expect to see results? If I don’t see much improvement, I might just shave my head 💀! Any feedback or experiences would be super helpful. Thank you!

Doctors' responses

Sri Sri Tattva Anti Dandruff Lotion has been praised for its ayurvedic formulation that aims to address dandruff effectively. It is designed to work with ayurvedic principles to balance the excess oiliness of the scalp and relieve itching. If you’re battling with both an oily scalp and dandruff, it could be an imbalance in the body’s doshas, particularly Pitta and Kapha. These can cause increased oil production, resulting in the dandruff.

As for application, it’s typically used regularly for best results. You’ll want to apply it to your scalp after washing your hair, ensuring it’s thoroughly massaged until absorbed. Depending on the severity of your condition, a consistent use for a few weeks might be necessary before seeing significant results. It’s also good to use it alongside a mild, herbal shampoo to prevent further irritation or dryness, completing the care routine.

With natural ingredients, it may work slower than chemical treatments but often with fewer side effects, like the dryness you experienced with medicated shampoos.

Include dietary adjustments to align with Ayurvedic recommendations, such as reducing spicy or excessive oily foods that enhance Pitta. Increase intake of cooling foods like cucumber and incorporate detoxifying teas, such as those made with neem or coriander. These can help manage the doshas internally, supporting the lotion’s external treatment.

Scalp massage with oils like neem or coconut before shampooing can also be beneficial, provided you wash off thoroughly. Avoid hot water; instead, use lukewarm to wash your hair to minimize scalp stress.

Manage stress and incorporate calming activities — yoga, meditations — as these influence your overall skin health. If you don’t see improvement in the next few weeks, and especially as dandruff persists, consulting with a dermatologist or an ayurvedic practitioner directly may be a next step before any drastic measures like shaving. Adjusting both internal and external care is crucial to fully address dandruff issues sustainably!

The Sri Sri Tattva Anti Dandruff Lotion could potentially be beneficial, but it’s essential to understand the root causes of your dandruff from an Ayurvedic perspective. Dandruff often arises from an imbalance in the kapha and vata doshas, where excessive oiliness and dryness disrupt the natural balance of your scalp, leading to flakes and itching.

While the lotion contains natural ingredients that might soothe and relieve the symptoms, it’s not guaranteed to address the root cause alone. Consistent use of the lotion may show improvements over a few weeks, but it’s best to integrate this with other lifestyle adjustments for better results. Apply the lotion regularly, perhaps two to three times a week, leaving it on for the recommended duration before washing off. Use it as a part of your scalp care routine rather than a spot treatment for more sustained benefits.

Consider complementing the lotion with a mild, balanced Ayurvedic shampoo. You could also work on balancing your doshas by managing stress, which exacerbates dandruff, and incorporating foods that pacify kapha and vata, such as warm, cooked foods with spices like turmeric and ginger. Scalp massage with warm sesame oil before washing can also help, as it nourishes the scalp while promoting blood circulation.

If the condition persists or worsens, it’s advisable to consult an ayurvedic practitioner or dermatologist for personalized treatment. Shaving your head might reduce visible flakes but won’t solve the underlying issue. Immediate medical attention might not be required unless you notice severe inflammation or skin changes. Always keep the focus on treatments that align with addressing your unique constitution and symptoms.
