Sri Sri Tattva Extra Nourishing Moisturiser - #32982
I am dealing with some super dry skin issues these days. It started a few months ago, just some patches on my elbows and knees, but now it's spreading like crazy! I've tried a bunch of different creams, but nothing really seems to work long-term. Recently, I heard about the Sri Sri Tattva Extra Nourishing Moisturiser and got kinda curious. Has anyone actually tried this? I mean, I read the reviews, and they sound great but still... I’m not sure if it'll be good for someone like me with intensely dry skin. Like, my skin feels tight and looks really flaky sometimes, especially after a shower. Ugh, it's SO annoying! I also wonder, can this Sri Sri Tattva Extra Nourishing Moisturiser work alongside other Ayurvedic treatments? I have been using some herbal ointments but guess I could really use a good moisturiser now. And if you have sensitive skin like me, does it irritate? Or is it actually soothing? I’ve got to be careful about what I put on my skin. Any personal experiences would be sooo helpful! Thanks a lot!

Dry skin, especially when it’s intense and spreading, can be a frustrating issue. Sri Sri Tattva Extra Nourishing Moisturiser is designed to provide deep hydration and may indeed benefit those with dry skin. Its ayurvedic formulation includes herbs and oils renowned for their moisturizing properties. For someone like you, who experiences tightness and flakes, this product might offer the relief you are looking for.
When it comes to Ayurvedic principles, dry skin often points towards a Vata imbalance—it’s characterized by dry, rough, cold, and light qualities. To tackle this fundamentally, it’s helpful to incorporate moisturizing practices both internally and externally. Ensure you are staying hydrated throughout the day, consuming warm foods, and perhaps incorporating more ghee or olive oil in your diet, which can nourish from within.
The Sri Sri Tattva Moisturizer, used effectively, may complement other Ayurvedic treatments you’re currently undertaking. Make sure to apply it right after a shower when your skin is still slightly damp; this helps lock in the moisture more effectively. Regarding sensitivity, this moisturizer generally suits delicate skin, but it can vary from person to person. Before applying it fully, consider doing a patch test on a small area to check for any adverse reactions.
If you find herbal ointments beneficial, they can often be layered with the moisturizer. Start with clean skin, apply any herbal treatments, and wait a few minutes for them to absorb before sealing in the benefits with the moisturizer.
Effective skincare is often about holistic habits. Apart from topical solutions, regular oil massages with sesame oil, also respected in Ayurveda, can vastly improve skin texture and hydration over time. This is particularly during colder months when dryness intensifies. Keeping stress in check, since high stress can elevate Vata as well, will also contribute positively.
Persistence and regular routines are key. If the dryness continues or worsens despite treatments, consultation with a dermatologist or an ayurvedic practitioner for a more personalized plan might be wise. Your skin health reflects not just external care but also a balance of diet, lifestyle, and emotional wellbeing.
When it comes to intensely dry skin, especially if it’s spreading, it helps to focus on both external and internal Ayurvedic approaches. Sri Sri Tattva Extra Nourishing Moisturiser might be a good choice as it’s formulated with natural ingredients like almond oil, olive oil, and wheat germ oil which are nourishing and can help in maintaining skin’s moisture. However, it’s essential to check how your skin reacts to these ingredients, considering your sensitivity.
Since your skin feels tight and flaky, it’s possible that you are experiencing an imbalance of Vata dosha, which leads to dryness and rough skin. Alongside the moisturiser, incorporating a Vata-pacifying diet could be beneficial. Add more warm, unctuous, and moist foods to your meals—think cooked grains, stews, and root vegetables. Adding a touch of ghee to your dishes might also support overall lubrication in the body and skin.
For topical treatments, continue using the herbal ointments if they seem to help, but incorporate the moisturiser post-bathing, as the skin is more receptive. Simple practices like Abhyanga (self-massage with warm sesame oil) before a bath can be additionally nurturing to counteract dryness.
Ensure you stay hydrated and consider herbal teas with spices like ginger and cumin to keep your Agni—digestive fire—balanced. Always patch-test any new product on a small skin area before full use to ensure no adverse reactions, especially considering your history of sensitivity.
Remember, if any severe irritation or quick deterioration occurs, expedient consultation with a healthcare provider is important to prevent complications. The combination of internal balance through diet and external care with products like the Sri Sri Tattva Extra Nourishing Moisturiser may offer a more holistic solution to your skin concerns.
