Itching all over the body, particularly after urination or taking a bath, and worsening at night, can be a sign of a few potential issues, including skin sensitivities, allergies, or even underlying conditions like a histamine intolerance, kidney or liver dysfunction, or hormonal imbalances. In Ayurveda, this could be linked to an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, which governs heat and metabolism, or an issue with blood purification (Rakta). It would be advisable to check for any allergies or sensitivities to soaps, detergents, or fabrics that might trigger the itching. You might also want to consider incorporating cooling herbs such as Neem, Aloe Vera, or Chamomile, which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties, or using Ayurvedic oils like coconut oil or sesame oil to soothe the skin. If this issue persists or worsens, consulting a healthcare provider is important for proper diagnosis and treatment, as they may recommend tests to rule out systemic causes such as liver, kidney, or thyroid function issues.

Itching like what you're describing, could be related to elevated IgE levels, often linked with allergies or even other issues. In ayurveda, this type of itching might be connected to an imbalance in Pitta dosha mixed with Vata disturbances. It's like a fiery irritation in your blood getting stirred up, and Vata making your nervous system more sensitive to it. Start by avoiding those Pitta-aggravating things. Spicy, oily, fried foods, or too much coffee, alcohol, as well as direct sun exposure could be triggering your symptoms. Shift towards a cooling, soothing diet – think cucumbers, melons, coriander, and coconut water. They're naturally calming and might help balance things out. Watch your hydration too. Sometimes we overlook it, but getting enough fluid is crucial to keep everything flowing smoothly. For an immediate sooth, you might try applying a paste made of sandalwood and rose water post-bath; it's calming and cools down that hot, itchy sensation. You could also consider a neem or turmeric paste to apply on your skin. They’ve been used traditionally for calming skin irritations and could offer some relief. Also, bring more routine and consistency to your lifestyle. Regularizing meals and sleep can help stabilize Vata. You mentioned the issues with sleep too–a little warm glass of milk with nutmeg or a pinch of cardamom before bed can be grounding and nurturing, and reading some calming stuff might just prepare your mind for rest too. If nothing eases it though, it can indicate a deeper seift in your dosha, like an underlying health condition, and getting a full assessment with a healthcare professional would be wise. Allergists or dermatologists can run tests and dig deeper into any potential concerns. Health is complex, but by talking it out and exploring these options, you'll get to the root of it. Take care!
