how to cure anemia naturally - #38080

Violet

I am feeling really worn out lately and just kinda tired all the time. Went to the doctor and they said I have anemia, but they just threw some iron pills at me and didn’t explain much. I've been trying to learn how to cure anemia naturally because honestly, the idea of taking pills forever doesn't sit right with me. Last week, I started eating more spinach and lentils, but I feel like there has to be more to it than that, right? I've heard some people mention things like beetroot and pomegranate juice too. I’m just not sure what the best foods are or if there’s herbs that can help too? I’ve been googling, but every article says something different about how to cure anemia naturally. Some say avoid tea with meals, others say pair certain foods together. It's all a bit all over the place! Like, should I be taking vitamin C with my meals? Does that really help absorb iron better? Super confused and honestly a bit frustrated. Anyone have success stories or tips on how to cure anemia naturally? Would love to hear what worked for you or any recipes you’ve got! Thanks!

Anemia can indeed feel exhausting, draining your energy and affecting daily life. Fortunately, Ayurveda offers a comprehensive approach combining diet, lifestyle, and herbal remedies to address the root causes of anemia. Firstly, focusing on your diet, it’s great that you’ve already started with spinach and lentils, as they are rich in iron. However, for optimal iron absorption, consider pairing them with foods high in vitamin C, like oranges, bell peppers, and strawberries. This increases bioavailability of the iron, enhancing absorption in the gut.

Beetroot and pomegranate are excellent choices too; beetroot is known to improve blood health while pomegranate supports circulation and boosts hemoglobin levels. Drinking a glass of beetroot or pomegranate juice daily on an empty stomach can be beneficial. Also, including dry fruits like raisins and figs helps, as they’re rich sources of iron. But when it comes to tea, it’s true that tannins in tea can inhibit iron absorption, so it’s better to avoid it during or right after meals.

Herbs can play a vital role as well. Ayurvedic herbs like Ashwagandha can help improve vitality and overall energy levels. Taking Ashwagandha powder with warm milk before bedtime can support your body in building strength. Additionally, Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) might help bolster your immunity and blood count.

Make sure to maintain a good digestive fire, or ‘Agni’, which is crucial for processing nutrients efficiently. Incorporate spices like cumin, turmeric, and ginger to aid digestion and fortify your digestive health. Regular practices such as yoga and pranayama also greatly assist in maintaining mental and physical wellness. Bhramari or Nadi Shodhana can be particularly nurturing pranayama practices.

Finally, maintaining regularity in your meals and ensuring adequate sleep are important. Your system needs rest to rejuvenate and produce healthy red blood cells. Remember that if your symptoms persist, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional for personalised advice. Listening to your body and balancing it with Ayurvedic principles can go a long way in naturally addressing anemia.
