Doctors' responses

Namaste, Long-standing nasal polyps with sinus blockage can cause difficulty in breathing, sleep problems, and frequent sinus irritation. In Ayurveda, treatment usually focuses on reducing inflammation, clearing mucus, and improving sinus drainage. Simple supportive measures: Steam inhalation with plain water or a pinch of turmeric may help loosen mucus and open nasal passages. Saline nasal rinse (jal neti) can help clear mucus and allergens from the nasal passages. Avoid cold foods, ice drinks, curd at night, and dust exposure, as these may worsen sinus congestion. Keep digestion strong with warm, light meals and good hydration. Ayurvedic medicines that may support sinus health: Haridra Khanda – traditionally used to support allergy management. Sitopaladi Churna – may help support respiratory health and reduce mucus. Anu Taila (nasal drops) – sometimes used in Ayurveda to support nasal passage lubrication and sinus health. Since you mentioned polyps for many years with severe blockage, it is important to consult an ENT specialist along with an Ayurvedic doctor. Very large or long-standing polyps sometimes require medical evaluation, and supportive therapies can then be planned safely. A personalised treatment plan combining diet, nasal therapies, and appropriate medicines usually gives better long-term relief.
