Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
The burning sensation in your child’s throat after taking Kayam Churna can be understood through Ayurveda as an imbalance of the Pitta dosha. Kayam Churna, being a laxative, may increase the heat in the body, leading to the burning sensation. This is a common Pitta-related symptom, as Pitta is associated with fire and heat in the body. When Pitta is aggravated, it can manifest as burning sensations, especially in the digestive tract.
This symptom suggests an immediate reaction to the churna, possibly due to the warming nature of its ingredients. While Kayam Churna is generally used to alleviate constipation by stimulating digestion, in a young individual, especially under the age of 18, it might be too potent, leading to an excessive increase in internal heat.
Ayurveda views this as a systemic imbalance rather than an isolated issue. The increase in Pitta can affect digestion and overall body temperature regulation. It’s important to ensure that your child’s digestive fire, or Agni, is balanced and not overly stimulated, which can lead to discomfort and burning sensations.
