HELLO,
Dry skin means your skin lacks enough natural oil and moisture In Ayurveda, this is known as Ruksha twak, and it happens mainly due to aggravation of Vata dosha
Vata is responsible for all movement, dryness, and lightness in the body When Vata increases (due to cold weather, dry air, lack of oil ,stress, or improper food habits), it reduces the natural moisture and hydration of skin
THIS LEADS TO -rough, flaky, or scaly skin -tightness or itching -dull complexion -early wrinkling -cracks on heels, lips or elbows
If not managed early, this dryness can spread internally affecting joints (causing stiffness), colom (constipation), or even nerves (fatigue, dryness in body tissues)
CAUSES -vata aggravating diet- dry, cold, light food -excessive exposure to wind/cold -lack of oil in food -overuse of soaps, hot water -excess fasting/ skipping meas -stress, anxiety, lack of sleep
TREATMENT GOALS -pacify vata -internal and external oleation -rejuvenation -blood purification -avoid causes
INTERNAL TREATMENT
1) CHYAWANPRASHA= 1 tsp morning in milk for 3 month =improves skin texture, and immunity
2) MAHATIKTAKA GHRITA= 1 tsp at bedtime with warm milk for 2 months =internal oleation, nourishes tissues
3) MANJISTHA CAPSULE= 500mg cap twice daily after meals for 2 months =blood purifier, enhances complexion
4) ASHWAGANDHA + SHATAVARI CHURNA= 1 tsp with warm milk at bedtime for 3 months =balances vata, strengthen body, restores hydration and hormonal balance
EXTERNAL TREATMENTS
1) OIL MASSAGE with Ksheerbala taila/ sesame oil -warm oil massage before bath 30 min =balances vata, softens skin, improves circulation

3) ALOE VERA GEL + COCONUT OIL= daily moisturizer =soothing hydration
4) OATMEAL OR MILK BATH= once a week =reduces roughness, adds moisturise
LIFESTYLE
DO’S -regular oil massage before bathing -keep body warm or covered in wind -maintain regular sleep schedule -practice stress management -use cotton, soft clothes

DIET -warm, moist, oily foods -milk, ghee, butter sesame oil -moong dal soups, rice gruel, khichdi - cooked vegetables - carrots, pumpkin, beets, spinach -sweet fruits- banana, mango, papaya, dates
AVOID -dry snacks- chips, popcorn, biscuits -excess spicy, bitter or salty foods -cold drinks, ice cream -caffeine, alcohol, smoking
HYDRATION= drink warm water or herbal teas- ginger, fennel, licorice

1. Eladi cream for external application.
Use kumkumadi tailam as night serum also. Apply 1 or to drops
Hello I can understand your concern but dont worry we are here to help you out😊
✅ Ayurvedic Recommendation
✅ Cream
You can use Shatdhout ghrita cream
Apply pea-size amount after cleansing, morning and evening; if skin feels extra dry, re-apply mid-day and after washing face.
✅ Facial Oil
At night, after evening cream, apply 2–3 drops of Ayurvedic facial oil, such as:
1 Kumkumadi Taila (small amount)
2 Almond oil (cold-pressed) mixed with a drop of rosy essential oil (unless sensitive)
Massage gently into your face for 1–2 minutes. Let skin rest; you may wear a silk scarf or pillow-cover for extra care.
✅ Body/Face Light Touch Up
After midday face wash or when skin feels tight: A light layer of cream or 1 drop oil to comfort and restore softness.
❌ What to Avoid
Extremely dry, rough soaps or very stringent cleansers. Cold washes, very hot water on face. Sleeping late, insufficient rest — this aggravates Vata and dries skin. Strong fragrances or harsh actives without senior skin adaptation.
Wishing you a good health😊
Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate
You can opt for following options: Coconut oil Sesame oil Nalparamadi oil Eladi oil
Ayurvedic Routine for Mature Skin - Morning & Evening: Wash with lukewarm water, apply oil while skin is damp - Weekly: Use a gentle herbal ubtan (masoor dal + rose + milk) for exfoliation - Diet Support: Include ghee, almonds, sesame, and warm cooked meals - Hydration: Sip warm water or herbal teas (like fennel or rose) throughout the day
Mature dry skin often requires deeper nourishment, particularly for those around 65 years of age. In Ayurveda, dry skin is usually a sign of vata imbalance. To address this, consider using sesame oil. Regularly referenced in Ayurvedic texts, sesame oil is known for its warming and nourishing properties, making it particularly suitable for mature, dry skin.
To apply, gently warm the sesame oil slightly before use to enhance absorption and efficacy. After washing your face, pat it dry, then apply a small amount of the warmed oil onto your face. Use gentle, circular motions until the oil is absorbed. Repeating this process 3 to 5 times a day can help maintain hydration.
If you prefer a lighter option, try almond oil. Rich in vitamin E, almond oil provides a more lightweight hydration. Similar to sesame oil, you can apply it in the same manner—after cleansing, warming it slightly if desired, and then massaging it onto your skin.
For those who opt for a cream or gel, consider making a paste from sandalwood powder and rose water. Both ingredients are recognised in Ayurveda for their soothing and cooling properties, providing hydration without causing excess oiliness. Simply mix a little sandalwood powder with sufficient rose water to form a paste, and apply gently to the face.
Ensure you’re incorporating hydrating foods in your diet as well, like ghee and cooked fruits, and drinking plenty of warm fluids to support internal hydration. Avoid dry and cold foods which may exacerbate the dryness.
Engage in daily self-massage or abhyanga, using a nourishing oil, to adds to the moisture and supporting skin’s elasticity. Additionally, try to minimize exposure to dry, windy and cold environments to prevent external dryness.
If dryness persists or there are additional symptoms, please consult with a healthcare provider to ensure no underlying conditions are present.
Can use Himalaya nourishing cream
For mature skin with a tendency for dryness, particularly at age 65, focusing on deep nourishment and hydration is crucial. In the Siddha-Ayurvedic tradition, addressing the dryness often involves balancing the Vata dosha, which can contribute to this condition.
A great option would be using an oil-based application like sesame oil, which is known for its deeply nourishing properties and can help retain moisture in the skin. Before applying, warm the oil slightly as this increases its absorption and effectiveness. Apply a small amount to your face and gently massage it in circular motions. Do this process ideally after washing your face with lukewarm water, 3 to 5 times a day as you mentioned.
Another excellent choice is Almond oil, which is rich in Vitamin E. It’s very effective for mature skin as it provides essential nutrients and is also gentle enough for frequent application. Be sure to choose cold-pressed, organic almond oil for the purest form.
If you prefer a cream or gel, try making a simple aloe vera and coconut oil cream. Mix equal parts of pure aloe vera gel and coconut oil (also warmed slightly) to form a soothing gel-like cream that you can use similarly, applying it after each wash. Aloe vera helps to soothe while coconut oil locks in moisture.
It’s also important to maintain internal hydration and support digestion with warm, cooked foods, and plenty of water to aid the moisture balance from within. Remember to consult with a healthcare provider as well, especially if symptoms persist or worsen, to ensure it aligns with any other treatments or health considerations you may have.
Can apply ksheera Bala taila whole body massage
